Abstract
An exercise bike includes a support frame and a first post extends from the support frame. An elongated member is connected to the first post and has a first hole and a second hole. A second post with a seat extend from the elongated member. A bottom bracket is received in the first hole and a crank rotatably extends through the bottom bracket. A first pulley is mounted to the crank. A rear wheel is connected to the elongated member and a rear wheel axle extends through the second hole. A second pulley is mounted to the rear wheel axle. A belt reeves between the first pullet and the second pulley.
Description
- The present invention relates to a chain stay for an exerciser bike and the chain stay has two holes for respectively receiving a bottom bracket and a rear wheel axle.
- A conventional exerciser bike is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 and generally includes an I-shaped frame and a
first post 11 extending from the frame. Ahandle 111 is connected on a top of thefirst post 11 and an extension bar extends from thepost 11. Asecond post 12 extends from the extension bar so as to be connected to aseat 121. Abottom bracket 13 is connected to thefirst post 11 and acrank 14 rotatably extends through thebottom bracket 13. Twopedals 141 are connected to two ends of thecrank 14 and afirst pulley 142 is mounted to thecrank 14. Arear wheel 16 is connected below thesecond post 12 and asecond pulley 15 is mounted to an axle of therear wheel 16. Abelt 17 reeves the twopulleys crank 14, therear wheel 16 is rotated. However, because thebottom bracket 13 and therear wheel 16 are connected to different parts of the exercise bike so that the twopulleys pulleys belt 17 tends to be worn out or even broken because of abnormal friction. - The present invention intends to provide an exercise bike that has an elongated member having two holes for respectively receiving the bottom bracket and the rear wheel axle so that the relative position of the bottom bracket and the rear wheel axle is ensured to be correct.
- In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, there is provided an exercise bike which comprises a support frame and a first post extends from the support frame and a handle is connected to a top of the first post. An elongated member is connected to the first post and has a first hole and a second hole. A second post extends from the elongated member and a seat is connected to the second post. A bottom bracket is received in the first hole and a crank rotatably extends through the bottom bracket. A first pulley is mounted to the crank. A rear wheel is connected to the elongated member and a rear wheel axle extends through the second hole. A second pulley is mounted to the rear wheel axle. A belt reeves between the first pullet and the second pulley.
- The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
- FIG. 1 is an exploded view to show a conventional exercise bike;
- FIG. 2 is a top view to show the conventional exercise bike;
- FIG. 3 is a side view to show the exercise bike of the present invention;
- FIG. 4 is a top view to show the exercise bike of the present invention, and
- FIG. 5 is a perspective view to show the exercise bike of the present invention.
- Referring to FIGS.3 to 5, the exercise bike of the present invention comprises a
support frame 22 and afirst post 21 extends from thesupport frame 22, and ahandle 23 is connected to a top of thefirst post 21. Anelongated member 30 connected to thefirst post 21 and has afirst hole 31 and asecond hole 35. A second post 24 extends from theelongated member 30 and aseat 240 is connected to the second post 24. Abottom bracket 33 is received in thefirst hole 31 and acrank 34 rotatably extends through thebottom bracket 33. Afirst pulley 342 is mounted to thecrank 34 and twopedals 341 are connected to two ends of thecrank 34. - A
rear wheel 36 is connected to theelongated member 30 and arear wheel axle 32 extends through thesecond hole 35. Asecond pulley 320 is mounted to therear wheel axle 32. Abelt 37 reeves between thefirst pullet 342 and thesecond pulley 320. - It is to be noted that the
elongated member 30 is a one-piece member so that the twoholes belt 37 can be connected to the twopulleys - While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
Claims (1)
1. An exercise bike comprising:
a support frame and a first post extending from said support frame, a handle connected to a top of said first post, an elongated member connected to said first post and having a first hole and a second hole, a second post extending from said elongated member and a seat connected to said second post, a bottom bracket received in said first hole and a crank rotatably extending through said bottom bracket, a first pulley mounted to said crank, a rear wheel connected to said elongated member and a rear wheel axle extending through said second hole, a second pulley mounted to said rear wheel axle, a belt reeving between said first pullet and said second pulley.
