Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a height-adjustable leisure chair, which in particular is easy for assembly, disassembly and carrying along, and it is permissible for the operator to adjust the height at his will to suit his gesture.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- For persons to sit with ease and comfort in working, attending classes and eating in the restaurant, there have been numerous types of chairs invented and developed, such as sofa, office chairs, settees, class chairs, beach chairs, stools, etc. However, the chairs required for formal occasions must be spacious, stable and comfortable, but in most cases, they are heavy in weight, bulky in construction and hard to move, which are unsuitable for the purpose of outdoor activities. Nowadays, the very popular leisure chairs are mostly integrally-formed plastic chairs, wooden chairs or foldable chairs with the advantage of small size, light weight, simplified construction, ease for being carried along and transported in the cars. However, they are normally simplified at the expense of height, which are usually lower than regular chairs; the persons who sit on them can hardly proceed the activity as they usually do. After sitting on these kinds of chairs for a long time, the persons feel pain in hips and waists or numbness in legs instead of comfort and relief. Therefore, it requires a further study for improving them in depth and length.
- FIG. 1 shows a prior art of a
foldable chair 10 a composed of two connectingrods pivot 13 a as a joint and aseat 14 a is supported on the top of the connectingrods - It is apparent that the height of the prior art of foldable chairs is lower than that of regular chairs. After sitting on this kind of chairs for a long time, people are unable to proceed activities they prefer because they feel painful in hips and waists and numb in legs.
- Viewing from the aforesaid statement, the prior art of foldable chairs presents salient defect and inconvenience, requiring a further improvement.
- For years, the inventor has been working hard on removal of such defects and inconvenience the prior art of the foldable chair inheres and come up with an improvement of his invention.
- The inventor is an expert in respect of the manufacture and market of the chair industry and has fabricated several samples of height-adjustable leisure chairs in accordance with the invention for trial run, which are proven more practicable and useful.
- The primary object of the invention is to provide a height-adjustable leisure chair, which is easy for assembly, disassembly and carrying along, and it is permissible for the operator to adjust the height at his will to suit his gesture.
- To achieve the aforesaid object, the height-adjustable leisure chair of the invention mainly comprises a first post and a second post. The first post is composed of a sleeve tube with a plurality of legs. The second post also has a sleeve tube, which is permissible to be risen and lowered in the first post with a pivot brace and a plurality of connecting rods for holding the seat and the seatback of the chair. A quick-action clamp lock is fixed on the sleeve tube, which is convenient for the operator to rise or lower the second post within the first post and adjust the height of the chair or pull out of the first post as is disassembled to attain the pre-planned object.
- The drawings disclose an illustrative embodiment of the present invention, which serves to exemplify the various advantages and objects thereof, but imposes no limitation.
- The features and merits of the present invention are explained in great detail with the aid of the embodiments as illustrated in the following drawings.
- FIG. 1 shows a prior art of a foldable chair.
- FIG. 2 is a stereo of assembly of the invention.
- FIG. 3 is a stereo disassembly of a first post, a second post, a quick-action clamp lock and a seat of the invention.
- FIG. 4 is an enlargement of portion A from FIG. 3. (1)
- FIG. 5 is an enlargement of portion A from FIG. 3. (2)
- FIG. 6 is a stereo disassembly of a quick-action clamp lock.
- FIG. 7 is a stereo assembly of a second post and a seatback of the chair.
- As shown in FIGS. 2 through 7, the height-adjustable leisure chair provided in the invention is especially light in weight, compact in structure, easy for assembly, disassembly and carrying along, and it is permissible to adjust the height to practicably suit personal sitting gestures. It mainly comprises a
first post 1, asecond post 2, a quick-action clamp lock 3, aseat 4 and aseatback 5. - The
first post 1 has a sleeve tube 10 (as shown in FIG. 2) withpivot braces 100 andlegs 11 to form a stable base standing on the ground. Thesleeve tube 10 provides aslot 101 andholes 102 on the upper portion, and theholes 102 receives twoflanges 104 of a C-ring 103 and a presser 105 (as shown in FIG. 3.) - The
second post 2 also has asleeve tube 20 which has a diameter small than that of thesleeve tube 10 of thefirst post 1 and is allowed to slide in and out of thesleeve tube 10. Thesleeve tube 20 is furnished with apivot brace 200 on the top and a plurality of connectingrods 21 spread at equal angles from the periphery of thepivot brace 200. Thesleeve tube 20 is drilled with a straight line ofsmall holes 202, which correspond to the coordinate of thehole 102 on the sleeve tube 10 (as shown in FIG. 4.) Theholes 202 also allow theflange 104 of the C-ring 103 to pierce through (as shown in FIG. 5,) so thesecond post 2 can be freely risen and lowered within thefirst post 1. The far ends of the connectingrods 21 extend and insert into thepocket 40 at each corner of the seat 4 (as shown in FIG. 2), so theseat 4 can be secured on thesecond post 2 on which the person sits. - In order to fasten the chair when the height is appropriately adjusted, a quick-actioned
clamp lock 3 is fixed around theslot 101 of the sleeve tube 10 (as shown in FIG. 6.) In practice, the quick-actionedclamp lock 3 consists of a C-clamp 30, abolt rod 31 and a quick-actionedwrench 32, wherein the C-clamp 30 surrounds thesleeve tube 10. Two extension ends of the C-clamp 30 are furnished withholes 300, allowing thebolt rod 31 to go through and lock thebolt rod 31 thereon by anut 310. There is a quick-actionedwrench 32 on the far end of thebolt rod 31. The quick-actionedwrench 32 is joined to the C-clamp 30 by alock pin 320, which locks the quick-actionedwrench 32 to thebolt rod 31. The quick-actionedwrench 32 has sfirst side wall 321 parallel to the quick-actionedwrench 32 and asecond side wall 322 perpendicular to thewrench 32. The distance between thefirst side wall 321 and thelock pin 320 is greater than that between thesecond side wall 322 and thelock pin 320, so the quick-actionedwrench 32 acts as a cam effect against the C-clamp 30. - Now take the
first post 1 out, spread thelegs 11 on the ground. Pull the quick-actionedwrench 32 to the horizontal position in the manner that thesecond side wall 322 closely touches the C-clamp 30 and thebolt rod 31 is therefore released and pulled backward, forcing the C-clamp 30 to relax from thesleeve tube 10. At this moment, theflange 104 of the C-ring 103 expands and disengages from thehole 202 on thesleeve tube 20, allowing thesleeve tube 20 of thesecond post 2 to slide into thesleeve tube 10 of thefirst post 1, which can be freely risen or lowered as desired until an adequate height is obtained. When the quick-actionedwrench 32 is turned back to the upright position, thefirst side 321 will touch the C-clamp 30 and thebolt rod 31 is drawn to close the C-clamp 30, which holds thesleeve tube 20 steadfastly in place. Theflange 104 of the C-ring 103 will pierce into theholes 202 on thesleeve tube 20 to fix it in fastened position. - The far end of the connecting
rod 21 of thesecond post 2 provides a joint 51 (as shown in FIG. 7) to link with the frame post of theseatback 5. More comfort can be obtained when theseatback 5 is cushioned with abackrest 52. - Spread the connecting
rod 21 widely apart to receive theseat 4 and fasten it on thejoint 51 of theseatback 5, so the leisure chair of the invention is easily and quickly assembled as shown in FIG. 2. To obtain an adequate height of the chair to sit on (as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5), it is a simple action to pull up the quick-actionedwrench 32 and release thesecond post 2, and thesleeve tube 20 is free to be pulled out of thesleeve tube 10. Similarly, close up thelegs 11 to thefirst post 1 and the connectingrod 21 to thesecond post 2, now it can be in a small package ready for carrying by hand and transporting by car. - In addition, to avoid a central over sink of the
seat 4 due to the deformation of each connectingrod 21 of thesecond post 2, alock pin 201 and asupport platter 22 are fastened through thehole 220 on the sleeve tube 20 (as shown in FIG. 3.) Theplatter 22 has twoslots 221 cut on each side. When thesecond post 2 is being inserted into thefirst post 1, rotate theplatter 22 to align thelock pin 201 with theslot 221, so theplatter 22 can pass thelock pin 201 till the proper position, then rotate theplatter 22 again to ensure that thelock pin 201 holds theplatter 22 in place without sliding down. This device prevents the deformation likely to occur on the connectingrod 21. - The product provided in the invention cherishes remarkable utilization, novelty and technical advance. The creative construction of the invention has neither been exposed to the public, nor in the furniture magazines. The product of the invention exactly complies with the patent requirements and is justified for a favorable approval of a patent certificate.
- Many changes and modifications in the above disclosed embodiment of the invention can, of course, be carried out without departing from the scope thereof. Accordingly, to promote the progress in science and the useful arts, the invention is disclosed and is intended to be limited only by the scope of the appended claims.
