Abstract
A dinnerware made of melamine with an annular protecting object on the edge includes a main body and a metallic ring. The main body has an annular protrusion on the edge. The metallic protecting ring is firmly and closely wrapped around the annular protrusion of the main body for preventing cracks from forming on the edge for strengthening the dinnerware so that same can't be easily deformed, and to be an ornament for the main body with a plain appearance as well.
Description
- The present invention relates to a dinnerware made of melamine, and particularly to one which has a protecting object attached to the edge for preventing the edge from getting damaged and for strengthening the same.
- Many products needed in our daily life are made of plastic mainly because plastic is light in weight, and is relatively cheap, e.g. dinner plates, platters and bowls. These conventional dinnerware made of melamine are very popular because they are light in weight, not easily to break when falling to the ground and inexpensively. However, they can get cracks on the edge, and, because melamine is not stiff enough, they can get deformed very easily. Furthermore, because these dinnerware made of melamine look plain and unattractive, people don't regard them as high-class products. To overcome this drawback, designs and patterns have been added to the edges of the dinnerware made of melamine, but the effects are very limited. Other dinnerware made of melamine also have the drawback of looking plain and unattractive, making people regard them as cheap products.
- Therefore, it is a main object of the present invention to provide a dinnerware made of melamine with protecting objects to the edge so that the dinnerware made of melamine can't get cracks or deformed easily, and can look more attractive.
- The dinnerware made of melamine with a protecting object on the edge of the preset invention includes a main body and a metallic protecting ring.
- The main body has an annular protrusion on the edge. The metallic protecting ring is firmly and closely wrapped around the annular protrusion of the main body so that the dinnerware main body is protected from getting cracked, and is strengthened by the metallic ring to a degree that it can't be easily deformed.
- Furthermore, because of the metallic ring, which is preferably silvern or golden, the dinnerware made of melamine looks more attractive than the conventional plain ones, making people regard it as a high-class product.
- This invention will be better understood by referring to the accompanying drawings, wherein:
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a dinnerware made of melamine with edge protecting means according to the present invention.
- FIG. 2 is a fragmentary cross-sectional view of the main body and the metallic ring of the dinnerware made of melamine of the present invention.
- FIG. 3 is a fragmentary cross-sectional view of the dinnerware made of melamine of the present invention.
- Referring to FIG. 1, a dinneware made of melamine with a protecting object on the edge includes a
main body 1 and ametallic ring 2. Themetallic ring 2 can be made to have a golden or silvern color and so on. - Referring to FIG. 2, the
main body 1 has anannular protrusion 11 sticking out on the edge; theannular protrusion 11 can have a lower end projecting downwards, and an upper end projecting upwards beyond the surface of themain body 1. The metallic protectingring 2 is firmly and closely wrapped around theannular protrusion 11 of themain body 1 to prevent the edge of the dinnerwaremain body 1 from getting cracks or getting damaged, and to strengthen the edge. Themetallic ring 2 can be wrapped around theannular protrusion 11 when the plasticmain body 1 is moulded in an injection machine or after themain body 1 is taken out of the injection machine. The thickness of themetallic ring 2 depends on the needs. - From the above description, the dinnerware made of melamine with a protecting object on the edge of the present invention can be known to have desirable features as follows:
- 1. Being protected by the metallic ring, the edge of the
main body 1 won't have cracks to become sharp to hurt the users. And, because the metallic ring is firmly and closely attached to the annular protrusion of the plastic main body, there is no room for deposit of dirt and dust in the joint between the metallic ring and the main body. - 2. The dinnerware made of melamine is strengthened by the metallic ring attached to the edge, and therefore can't be deformed easily. The thickness of the metallic ring can be decided according to the size and purpose of the dinnerware.
- 3. The metallic ring can be attached to the edges of main body of various shapes such as round, rectangle oval, etc.
- 4. The metallic ring can make the dinnerware made of melamine look more attractive so that people regard the dinnerware as a relatively high-class product as compared with the conventional plain dinnerware.
