Abstract
An exerciser including a main body having a support section disposed under the bottom face of the main body for contacting with the floor. The main body can swing with the support section serving as a fulcrum. The support section is positioned near one end of long side of the main body to divide the main body into a long part and a short part. In normal state, the main body contacts with the floor in a stable state. When exercising, a user can stably lean his/her body onto the main body and exert a force on the main body by hands or legs to swing the main body. The user's body will swing along with the main body so that the exerciser can help the user in making various types of exercises.
Description
- The present invention is related to an exerciser having a main body for a user to lean thereon. A support section is disposed under bottom face of the main body for contacting with the floor. When the main body swings, the user's body will swing along with the main body so that the exerciser can help the user in making various types of exercises.
- FIG. 7 shows a conventional situp board. An
inclined board body 62 is mounted on aframe body 61.Foam sponge rollers 63 are disposed on theframe body 61 for a user's feet to hook and lean thereon. - In use, the user's feet hook and lean on the
foam sponge rollers 63 and the user's body downward inclinedly lies on theboard body 62. By means of the strength of the waist, the user lifts the upper half of the body to make situp exercise. When exercising, the user lifts the upper half body all by his/her own waist strength. Such movement is relatively laborious and not so easy for most users, especially for beginners or those users needing rehabilitation. Furthermore, when the user lifts his/her body, the spine and cervical vertebra of the user are not supported and will be bent and arched due to application force of the user. This often incautiously results in injury. Also, the situp board can be only used for situp exercise without other function. - FIG. 8 shows another exerciser having a
base seat 71. Astep board 72 is disposed at one end of thebase seat 71 and aseat 73 is positioned at the middle of thebase seat 71. Aswingable back cushion 74 is pivotally disposed on thebase seat 71 and aresilient member 75 is connected between theback cushion 74 and thebase seat 71. - In use, both feet of the user step on the
step board 72 with his/her back leaning on theback cushion 74. When the stretching force of both feet of the user exceeds the resilient force of theresilient member 75, theback cushion 74 will swing backward to stretch the user's body. Accordingly, the neck and back of the user are properly supported and the exercise can be made to a greater extent. However, this also is not suitable for those users needing rehabilitation. Also, such exerciser can be used only in a specific manner as aforesaid. Moreover, such exerciser has complicated structure and is manufactured at higher cost and the possibility of failure will be increased. - FIG. 9 shows a conventional situp exerciser having an arched
main body 8. Apillow 81 is disposed at one end of themain body 8 for a user's neck to lean thereon. The other end is provided with agrip section 82 opposite to thepillow 81 for the user to hold. - In use, the user's neck leans on the
pillow 81 and lies on the floor. When both hands of the user exert a force to push thegrip section 82, the ring-shapedmain body 8 will swing and thepillow 81 will push the neck upward. Accordingly, the upper half body of the user will be lifted to make situp exercise. When the upper half body of the user is lifted, only thepillow 81 exerts a pushing force on the user. In other words, the weak neck of the user supports the weight of the upper half body of the user. This is very likely to cause injury in exercise. Furthermore, when the user lifts the upper half body, the spine and cervical vertebra of the user are also bent and arched due to the application force. This also tends to result in injury in case of improper force. - FIG. 10 shows a swinging exerciser. A
shaft 92 is pivotally disposed between twoleg supports 91. Theshaft 92 is connected with the middle of aback cushion 93. Aleg bracket 94 and apillow 95 are respectively disposed at two ends of theback cushion 93. - The
shaft 92 is connected with the middle of theback cushion 93 so that theback cushion 93 has a form of titter in a balanced state. In the case that one end suffers greater force, theback cushion 93 will turn to the end. In other words, when the body of the user exerts a force on one end of theback cushion 93, the back cushion will swing and the user's body will swing along therewith. Accordingly, the user can easily stretch his/her body without costing much strength. However, the exercising effect will be limited. Moreover, theback cushion 93 has a form of a titter so that it tends to incautiously lose balance and turn. Also, the leg supports 91 have a certain height so that theunbalanced back cushion 93 will turn down to hit the floor by a considerable force. This may hurt the user. - It is therefore a primary object of the present invention to provide an exerciser including a main body having a support section disposed under the bottom face of the main body for contacting with the floor. The support section is positioned near one end of long side of the main body to divide the main body into a long part and a short part. In normal state, the main body contacts with the floor in a stable state. When exercising, a user can stably lean his/her body onto the main body and exert a force on the main body by hands or legs to swing the main body. The user's body will swing along with the main body so that the exerciser can help the user in making various types of exercises.
- It is a further object of the present invention to provide the above exerciser in which the support section is arched so that when the main body suffers a force and swings, the arched support section rolls over the floor, whereby the main body simultaneously swings and displaces to more effectively stretch the user's body.
- The present invention can be best understood through the following description and accompanying drawings wherein:

- Please refer to FIGS. 1 and 2. The exerciser of the present invention includes a
main body 1 which is a substantially rectangular board for a user's body to lean thereon. The front and rear sections of two sides of themain body 1 are respectively provided withhandles 14 for the user to hold. Asupport section 11 is disposed under the bottom face of themain body 1 for contacting with the ground. Thesupport section 11 is positioned near one end of long side of themain body 1, whereby themain body 1 is divided by thesupport section 11 into along part 12 and ashort part 13. In this embodiment, thesupport section 11 is semicylindrical and has an arched contact section in contact with the ground. When themain body 1 suffers a force, thesupport section 11 can roll on the floor and themain body 1 is swung along therewith. - The
support section 11 is positioned near one end of long side of themain body 1 so that in normal state, thelong part 12 of themain body 1 and thesupport section 11 will at the same time contact with the floor in a stable state. When a user lifts his/her waist, the upper half of the user's body lies on themain body 1 with the head directed to the end at which thesupport section 11 is positioned. The user's legs step on the floor with the knees bending. The head of the user is higher than the body as shown in FIG. 3A. Both hands can embrace the chest or hold thehandles 14. At this time, thelong part 12 andsupport section 11 of themain body 1 lean on the floor in a stable state, permitting the user to stably adjust the attitude. When exercising, the waist and legs of the user at the same time exert a force to lift the lower half of the user's body. At this time, the gravity center of the user naturally moves to the upper half of the user's body and the head and theshort part 13 of themain body 1 suffers a depressing force. With theshort part 13 serving as the arm of applied force, the depressing force will relatively create a lifting force onto thelong part 12 of themain body 1 as shown in FIG. 3B. Accordingly, themain body 1 will help in lifting the user's body and completing the waist-lifting exercise. Moreover, when themain body 1 swings, thesupport section 11 rolls, whereby themain body 1 simultaneously displaces when swinging. Therefore, the user's body can more effectively stretch. - When making push-up exercise, the user lies on the
main body 1 with his/her face facing downward and his/her head directed to the end distal from thesupport section 11. The user's legs step on the floor with both hands straightened on the floor as shown in FIG. 4A. At this time, only thesupport section 11 of themain body 1 leans on the floor. When exercising, both hands of the user bend, making the upper half of the body depress thelong part 12 of themain body 1 and swing themain body 1. At this time, the body of the user swings down along with themain body 1. When pushing up the body, both hands of the user are straightened to lift the upper half of the body. At this time, the gravity center of the user will naturally move backward to create a depressing force onto theshort part 13 of themain body 1 and a lifting force onto thelong part 12. This helps in lifting the upper half of the user's body and completing push-up exercise as shown in FIG. 4B. - When making situp exercise, the upper half of the user's body lies on the
main body 1 with his/her head directed to the end distal from thesupport section 11. The user's hip sits on theshort part 13 of themain body 1 with the legs stepping on the floor and the knees bending as shown in FIG. 5A. At this time, the gravity center of the user resides in the hip so that theshort part 13 and thesupport section 11 lean on the floor. Under such circumstance, themain body 1 is still in a stable state. When exercising, the user first lies down toward rear side to depress thelong part 12 of themain body 1 downward until thelong part 12 and thesupport section 11 lean on the floor. At this time, the gravity center of the user resides in thelong part 12 so that themain body 1 is again in a stable state. Thereafter, the user utilizes the strength of the waist to again lift the upper half of the body and again move the gravity center of the body to theshort part 13 of themain body 1. Accordingly, a depressing force is exerted onto theshort part 13 and thelong part 12 is lifted. This helps in restoring the upper half of the user's body back to a position close to sitting attitude as shown in FIG. 5B. At this time, the weight of the user depresses theshort part 13 to restore to the previous stable state. - In the above various types of exercises, the
main body 1 is always in a stable state without losing balance and making the user get hurt. Moreover, thesupport section 11 serves as a fulcrum and theshort part 13 orlong part 12 serves as the arm of applied force. Therefore, the user only needs to lightly exert a force onto themain body 1, whereby themain body 1 can resist against the weight of the user's body and swing to achieve an exercising effect. Therefore, the exerciser is quite suitable for a beginner or a person needing rehabilitation. When themain body 1 suffers a force, thesupport section 11 rolls over the floor and themain body 1 is swung and displaced along therewith by a displacement L as shown in FIG. 6. Accordingly, the user's body can more effectively stretch to enhance the exercising effect. - According to the above arrangement, when exercising, a user can stably lean his/her body onto the
main body 1 and exert a force on themain body 1 by hands or legs, whereby themain body 1 can swing with thesupport section 11 in contact with the floor. At this time, the user's body will synchronously swing with themain body 1. Therefore, the present invention helps the user in making various types of exercises. When themain body 1 suffers a force and swings, thearched support section 11 rolls over the floor, whereby themain body 1 simultaneously swings and displaces to more effectively stretch the user's body. - The above embodiment is only used to illustrate the present invention, not intended to limit the scope thereof. Many modifications of the above embodiment can be made without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
Claims (2)
1. An exerciser comprising a main body which is a substantially rectangular board for a user's body to lean thereon, a support section being fixedly disposed under the bottom face of the main body for contacting with the ground, the support section having an arched contact section in contact with the floor, whereby when the main body suffers a force, the support section rolls over the floor and the main body swings along therewith, the support section being positioned near one end of long side of the main body, whereby the main body is divided by the support section into a long part and a short part.
2. The exerciser as claimed in claim 1 , wherein front and rear sections of two sides of the main body are respectively provided with handles for the user to hold.
