Abstract
This invention relates to a positioning structure of a workbench, which includes a platform and four folded legs. A positioning slice is pivotally connected at the end-side of the platform, which can be elastic engaged with a rod on the folded leg to maintain the stable used state of the workbench. And the positioning slice also can be engaged with a rod on the platform for keeping the leg folded beneath the platform in secure for storage and carriage.
Description
- A known workbench includes a platform with four fixed legs. It is a rigid body with a fixed configuration and it will be trouble in storage when it is not used because of the large volume. Another prior workbench is provided with folded legs to reduce the stored volume. But the folded leg is not fixed when folded in storage or in use. The workbench in use could be overturned as an accidental contact with the leg happens. And the folded leg in stored state might hurt someone nearby when the workbench is moved or carried.
- Accordingly, the primary object of the invention is to provide a positioning structure of a workbench, which provides a positioning slice between the leg and the platform to position the leg securely with the platform at used state or folded state. Now the features and advantages of the invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
- FIG. 1 is a schematic plan view showing a workbench in used state according to the present invention.
- FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing parts of the workbench according to the present invention.
- FIG. 3 is a plan view showing parts of the workbench according to the present invention.
- FIG. 4 is a plan view showing a positioning slice engaged with the platform of the workbench according to the present invention.
- FIG. 5 is a plan view of FIG. 4 showing to release the positioning slice from engagement according to the present invention.
- Please refer to FIGS.1 to 3, the invention relates to a positioning structure of a workbench, which includes a platform (1) and four folded legs (2) connected with the platform (1) by a pivot (13). The characteristic of the present invention is to connect with a positioning slice (3) by another pivot (11) at an end side of the platform (1). The positioning slice (3) has a side-wall (33) and an engaging groove (34) at opposite side. A hooking slice (31) is pivotally connected on the positioning slice (3). In use, The groove (34) of the positioning slice (3) can receive a rod (21) of the folded leg (2) while the hooking slice (31) hooks the rod (21) by its arched groove (311). A V-shape spring (32) placed between the side-wall (33) and an end-stand (312) of the slice (31) can provide an elastic force for the positioning slice (3) engaged with the leg (3) in secure by double elastic engagement.
- After above engagement, the workbench can be used in stable and will not be overturned or inclined of the folded leg that overcomes the drawback of the prior art. When to store the workbench, the folded leg (3) can be folded beneath the platform (1) by releasing the positioning slice (2) from the rod (21) on the leg (2) and then engaging the slice (2) on another rod (12) on the platform (1), as shown in FIG. 4. The stored volume is reduced for being moved or carried easy. The releasing method of the positioning slice (3) is shown in FIG. 5. First, to press the end-stand (312) of the hooking slice (31) for moving the slice (31) away from the rod (12) or (21). Then the positioning slice (3) can be moved away obviously. The elastic engaging force is provided by the V-shape spring (32) to obtain an effective connection therebetween.
- Evidently it meets the requirements of granting a patent. We hereby file an application for a patent grant.
