Abstract
A tent which includes a body, a door which is connected to the body by a seam line, a zipper sewn and attached to the body and the door, a slider for opening and closing the zipper and connection equipment for holding an open portion of the door. The zipper includes a holder provided with a pair of through holes for holding the slider when a user opens and closes the door. The connection equipment includes an elastic string and a connection portion which is attached to a position which is connected to the seam line and the zipper. With a holder hole of the zipper slider and the connection portion at the bottom of the tent door integrated into the body of the tent, the door of the tent does not reach to the ground while people go in and out, thus making outdoor life more enjoyable and comfortable by preventing the tent door from getting dirty or damaged.
Description
- The present invention relates to a tent and, more particularly to a tent provided with connection equipment for holding the zipper slider of a tent door with an elastic rubber string, thus preventing the tent door from reaching to the ground and getting dirty while open or partially shut.
- Conventional tents have a shortcoming in that the open tent door droops on the ground and gets dirty easily or even damaged while people are going in and out of the tent. So, each time the tent door is opened or closed it has to be bound and fixed up with a ring which is inconvenient. Moreover, when it is raining, the muddy and wet condition of the ground can soil the tent door seriously, thus discouraging campers from using the door for quite some time.
- It is, therefore, an object of the present invention to provide connection equipment, which keeps the tent door clean and comfortable for handling while campers go in and out of the tent.
- In accordance with an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a tent which comprises a body; a door which is connected to the body by a seam line; a zipper sewn and attached to the body and the door; a slider for opening and closing the zipper; and means for holding an open portion of the door. The tent further comprises a holder provided with a pair of through holes for moving the slider when a user opens and closes the door, the holder including an elastic string and a connection portion which is attached to the seam line and the zipper.
- The above and other objects and features of the present invention will become apparent from the following description of the preferred embodiments given in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which:
- FIG. 1 illustrates a perspective view of the present invention showing the door of the tent when it is closed;
- FIG. 2 is a magnified view of the part A of FIG. 1;
- FIG. 3 shows a schematic view of the door of the tent when it is partially open in accordance with the present invention; and
- FIG. 4 is a magnified view of the part C of FIG. 3.
- Other objects and aspects of the invention will become apparent from the following description of the embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings, which is set forth hereinafter.
- A
tent 1 comprises a body 15, adoor 2 and aseam portion 6. Thedoor 2 is opened and closed using azipper 3 which is sewn and attached to the door. The zipper has azipper slider 4 and azipper holder 5, thezipper holder 5 having a zipper holder hole 8. - A
fastening portion 10 is formed by tying the zipper holder hole 8 to aconnection ring portion 7, which is sewn and attached to an end of the bottom of thedoor 2, with arubber string 9. Therubber string 9 connects theconnection ring portion 7 to one of the through holes formed in thezipper slider 4. As shown in FIG. 2, theconnection ring portion 7 is connected to zipper holder hole 8. Therubber string 9 may be fastened to tie 11 when the door is sufficiently opened. - When setting up the
tent 1 of the present invention, theholder 5 of thezipper slider 4 is pulled to open thetent door 2 as with conventional tents. However, with the present invention thedoor 2 gets folded and doesn't reach to the ground because the zipper holder hole 8 is tied up with therubber string 9 to theconnection ring portion 7 sewn or otherwise attached to one end of theseam portion 6 at the bottom of thedoor 2. With the door fixed with thefastening portion 10, when thezipper 3 is pulled up to open the tent door, thedoor 2 gets folded naturally in the direction of thezipper 3 as it opens and does not reach to the ground as theconnection ring portion 7 at one side of theseam portion 6 is pulled up along with thezipper 3 while therubber string 9 is extended. When closing thetent door 2, thezipper holder 5 is grasped and thezipper slider 4 is moved to its original location, and then thedoor 2, which is folded open, gets unfolded as it closes, with therubber string 9 retracting gradually. - With the zipper holder hole8 of the
zipper slider 4 and theconnection ring portion 7 at the bottom of thetent door 2 integrated into the body 15, thedoor 2 of thetent 1 is not allowed to reach to the ground when people open the door to go in and out, thus making outdoor life for campers more enjoyable and comfortable by preventing the tent door from getting dirty or damaged. - While the present invention has been described with respect to certain preferred embodiments, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various changes and modifications may be made without departing from the scope of the invention as defined in the following claims.
