Abstract

A support rail device includes a rail device to be secured between one or more brackets with one or more coupler members and having an end engaged into the bracket. The coupler members each includes a block having an inner thread, and and end plate and an end board secured to the ends of the block. The end plate has a peripheral portion engaged in a peripheral recess of the rail device for securing the rail device to the bracket. The end plate may include one or more spring blades for engaging with the rail device. A decorative member may further be threaded to the block.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention [0001]
  • The present invention relates to a support rail, and more particularly to a support rail assembly for closets or curtains or blinds or vertical blinds or the like. [0002]
  • 2. Description of the Prior Art [0003]
  • One of the typical support rails for the closets is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 and comprises a pair of [0004] brackets 2 secured in the closet 3, and one or more rods, or a telescopic rod 1 is secured between the brackets 2. The brackets 2 each includes a hole 4 formed therein for receiving the ends 6 of the rod 1, and each includes one or more projections 5 extended inward of the hole 4 thereof for engaging into the rod 1 and for retaining the ends of the rod 1 in the brackets 2. The projections 5 are typically welded to the rod 1 and will be disengaged from the rod I after shipment or transportation, such that the rod 1 may be disengaged from or become loose relative to the brackets 2.
  • As shown in FIG. 3, illustrated is another typical support rail including a [0005] rod 7 to be secured between two spaced brackets 8 with fasteners 9. The support rail may not be suitably secured to the closet or the other supporting housings or the like. In addition, the typical support rails for the closets may not be used to support the curtains or the vertical blinds or the like. On the contrary, the typical support rails for the curtains or the vertical blinds or the like may not be used to support the clothes in the closets.
  • The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages of the conventional support rails. [0006]
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a support rail assembly for closets or curtains or blinds or vertical blinds or the like. [0007]
  • The other objective of the present invention is to provide a support rail assembly which may be used for changeably attaching to the closets and may be used for curtains or vertical blinds or the like. [0008]
  • In accordance with one aspect of the invention, there is provided a support rail assembly comprising at least one bracket including an orifice formed therein, a rail device including a first end engaged into the orifice of the bracket and having a peripheral recess formed therein and having a peripheral swelling extended radially outward therefrom for engaging with the bracket, and the first end of the rail device including a bore formed therein, and a coupler member including a block having an inner thread formed therein and having two ends, an end board secured to a first end of the ends of the block for engaging with the bracket, and an end plate secured to a second end of the ends of the block engaged into the bore of the rail device and engaged in the peripheral recess of the rail device for securing the rail device to the bracket. The rail device may be used and attached to the closets for supporting the clothes in the closets and may be used to support the curtains or the vertical blinds. [0009]
  • The bracket includes a channel formed therein and communicating with the orifice thereof. A device is further provided for preventing the rail device from rotating relative to the bracket and includes a bulge extended from the first end of the rail device and engaged into the channel of the bracket for preventing the rail device from rotating relative to the bracket. The peripheral recess of the rail device is preferably formed and defined in the peripheral swelling thereof. [0010]
  • The coupler member includes two cylindrical members extended from the ends of the block and engaged through the end plate and the end board for securing to the end plate and the end board. [0011]
  • The end plate includes an outer peripheral portion having at least one spring blade provided thereon for engaging with the rail device and for securing to the rail device. [0012]
  • An additional member, such as a decorative member, includes a threaded extension threaded to the inner thread of the block for securing the additional member to the rail device. [0013]
  • Further objectives and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from a careful reading of a detailed description provided hereinbelow, with appropriate reference to accompanying drawings.[0014]

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • Referring to the drawings, and initially to FIGS. [0024] 4-6, a support rail assembly in accordance with the present invention comprises two brackets 50 for attaching or securing to the closet 3 or the other supporting housings or members, and one or more tubes 20, 30 or a rail device, particularly a telescopic rail device 20, 30 to be secured between the brackets 50 with a coupling device 40. The tubes 20, 30 each includes a reduced diameter end 21, 31 engaged with each other for preventing the tubes 20, 30 from being disengaged from each other and for allowing the tubes 20, 30 to be moved or adjusted relative to each other to the selected or suitable or required length.
  • As best shown in FIG. 6, the [0025] brackets 50 each includes an orifice 51 formed therein and defined by a hub 53 and each includes a channel 52 formed therein and communicating with the orifice 51 thereof. The tubes 20, 30 or the telescopic rail device 20, 30 includes an end portion 201 for engaging into the orifice 51 of the bracket 50 and having a bore 24, 34 formed therein and having a bulge 23, 33 extended radially outward therefrom for engaging into the channel 52 of the bracket 50 and for preventing the tubes 20, 30 or the telescopic rail device 20, 30 from rotating relative to the brackets 50. The tubes 20, 30 or the telescopic rail device 20, 30 includes a peripheral swelling 22, 32 formed in the end portion 201 thereof and extended radially outward therefrom for forming or defining a peripheral recess 25, 35 in the end portion 201 of the tubes 20, 30 or the telescopic rail device 20, 30 and communicating with the bore 24, 34 of the tubes 20, 30 or the telescopic rail device 20, 30.
  • The [0026] coupling devices 40 each includes a block 41 having a threaded hole or an inner thread 411 formed therein, and having two cylindrical members 412, 413 oppositely extended outward therefrom. An end board 42 and an end plate 43 are secured to the ends of the block 41. For example, the end board 42 and the end plate 43 each includes an aperture 420, 430 formed therein for receiving the cylindrical members 412, 413 of the block 41 which may be bent or riveted to engage with the end board 42 and the end plate 43 and to secure the end board 42 and the end plate 43 to the block 41, best shown in FIG. 5. The peripheral swellings 22, 32 of the tubes 20, 30 or the telescopic rail device 20, 30 may engage with the bracket 50 for limiting the engagement of the tubes 20, 30 or the telescopic rail device 20, 30 into the orifice 53 of the bracket 50. The end board 42 may also be used to engage with the bracket 50 from the other side opposite to the peripheral swellings 22, 32 of the tubes 20, 30 or the telescopic rail device 20, 30.
  • As best shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the [0027] end plate 43 includes one or more bent or spring blades 31 extended radially outward therefrom and formed or defined between one or more notches 432. The spring blades 31 may be resiliently engaged into the bore 24, 34 of the tubes 20, 30 or the telescopic rail device 20, 30, and/or engaged into the peripheral recesses 25, 35 of the tubes 20, 30 or the telescopic rail device 20, 30, such that the coupling devices 40 may be easily engaged onto the tubes 20. 30 or the telescopic rail device 20, 30 and may be engaged with the brackets 50 for solidly securing the tubes 20, 30 or the telescopic rail device 20, 30 between the brackets 50.
  • Referring next to FIGS. [0028] 7-9, support rail assembly may further include one or more decorative end members 61 each having a threaded extension 611 for threading to the inner thread 411 of the block 41 and for providing as the decorative purposes. The brackets 60 may each include one or more orifices 62 and one or more channels 63 formed therein and communicating with each other for receiving one or more tubes 20, 30 or one or more telescopic rail devices 20, 30, and may be attached to the supporting wall 70 and located close to the window 71 for supporting the curtains or the vertical blinds or the like. The coupling members 40 may be used for easily and quickly securing the tubes 20, 30 or the telescopic rail devices 20, 30 to the brackets 60. The decorative end members 61 may be easily attached to the tubes 20, 30 or the telescopic rail device 20, 30 and to the brackets 60. Accordingly, the support rail assembly may be used for supporting the curtains, or may alternatively be attached to the closets for supporting the clothes in the closets.
  • Accordingly, the support rail assembly in accordance with the present invention may be used for closets or curtains or blinds or vertical blinds or the like. [0029]
  • Although this invention has been described with a certain degree of particularity, it is to be understood that the present disclosure has been made by way of example only and that numerous changes in the detailed construction and the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed. [0030]

Claims (7)

I claim:
1. A support rail assembly comprising:
a) at least one bracket including an orifice formed therein,
b) a rail device including a first end engaged into said orifice of said at least one bracket and having a peripheral recess formed therein and having a peripheral swelling extended radially outward therefrom for engaging with said at least one bracket, and said first end of said rail device including a bore formed therein, and
c) a coupler member including:
i) a block having an inner thread formed therein and having two ends,
ii) an end board secured to a first end of said ends of said block for engaging with said at least one bracket, and
iii) an end plate secured to a second end of said ends of said block engaged into said bore of said rail device and engaged in said peripheral recess of said rail device for securing said rail device to said at least one bracket.
2. The support rail assembly according to claim 1 further comprising means for preventing said rail device from rotating relative to said at least one bracket.
3. The support rail assembly according to claim 2, wherein said at least one bracket includes a channel formed therein and communicating with said orifice thereof, said rotation preventing means includes a bulge extended from said first end of said rail device and engaged into said channel of said at least one bracket for preventing said rail device from rotating relative to said at least one bracket.
4. The support rail assembly according to claim 1, wherein said peripheral recess of said rail device is formed and defined in said peripheral swelling thereof.
5. The support rail assembly according to claim 1, wherein said coupler member includes two cylindrical members extended from said ends of said block and engaged through said end plate and said end board for securing to said end plate and said end board.
6. The support rail assembly according to claim 1, wherein said end plate includes an outer peripheral portion having at least one spring blade provided thereon for engaging with said rail device and for securing to said rail device.
7. The support rail assembly according to claim 1 further comprising an additional member having a threaded extension threaded to said inner thread of said block for securing said additional member to said rail device.
