Abstract

A body building roller comprises two wheels between which a housing is disposed for housing a stop member. The stop member is provided with a plurality of separation pieces. The stop member is fastened with one end of each of two arresting ropes. The arresting ropes are fastened at other end with the two wheels. The two wheels are connected with each other by a plurality of bolts. The wheels, the stop member and the separation pieces are mounted on a shaft which is provided at both ends thereof with a grip fastened therewith.

Description

    FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates generally to an exercise device, and more particularly to a body building roller. [0001]
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • As shown in FIG. 1, a [0002] body building roller 10 of the prior art comprises two hand grips 11 and a wheel 12 mounted between the two hand grips 11. The body building roller 10 is used as an exercise device in such a manner that it is rolled on a surface by an exerciser in a prostrate position.
  • Such prior art [0003] body building roller 10 as described above is defective in design in that it is not provided with an arresting device to prevent the wheel 12 from moving forward abruptly. The abrupt forward motion of the wheel 12 can inflict injuries on the exerciser in a prostrate position.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a body building roller which is free of the shortcoming of the prior art body building roller described above. [0004]
  • The body building roller of the present invention comprises two hand grips, two wheels mounted between the two hand grips, a stop member, and two arresting ropes. The stop member and the two arresting ropes are disposed between the two wheels. The two wheels turn simultaneously such that the wheels are eventually arrested by the two arresting ropes in conjunction with the stop member.[0005]
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of a body building roller of the prior art. [0006]
  • FIG. 2 shows a perspective view of a body building roller of the present invention. [0007]
  • FIG. 3 shows an exploded view of the body building roller of the present invention. [0008]
  • FIG. 4 shows a longitudinal sectional view of the body building roller of the present invention in combination. [0009]
  • FIG. 5 shows a cross-sectional view of the body building roller of the present invention in combination. [0010]
  • FIG. 6 shows a longitudinal sectional view of the body building roller of the present invention in action. [0011]
  • FIG. 7 shows a cross-sectional view of the body building roller of the present invention in action. [0012]
  • FIG. 8 shows a longitudinal sectional view of a body building roller of another preferred embodiment of the present invention.[0013]
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • As shown in FIGS. [0014] 2-5, a body building roller embodied in the present invention comprises two wheels 20 and 21, a housing 30, a stop member 40, a plurality of separation pieces 50, two arresting ropes 60 and 61, a plurality of bolts 70, a locating member 80, a plurality of decorative sleeves 90, a shaft 1, and two grips 2 and 3. The housing 30 is disposed between the two wheels 20 and 21 and is provided with a plurality of fitting tubes 301. The two wheels 20 and 21 are fastened with the housing 30 by the bolts 70 which are put through the fitting tubes 301 of the housing 30. The stop member 40 is housed in the center of the housing 30 and is provided with two tubular bodies 41 in communication with each other. The separation pieces 50 are disposed between the stop member 40 and the two wheels 20 and 21. The two arresting ropes 60 and 61 are fastened at one end with the stop member 40 such that the arresting ropes 60 and 61 are wound around the separation pieces 50, and that the arresting ropes 60 and 61 are fastened at other end with the wheels 20 and 21. The decorative sleeves 90 are engaged with the exposed ends of the bolts 70. The wheels 20 and 21, the stop member 40, and the separation pieces 50 are mounted on the shaft 1. The grips 2 and 3 are fastened respectively with both ends of the shaft 1.
  • As shown in FIGS. 4 and 8, the [0015] stop member 40 is provided in two sides thereof with a hole 80 and a slot 81 for retaining one end 601 or 611 of the arresting rope 60 or 61 via the hole 80.
  • As illustrated in FIGS. 6 and 7, the two [0016] wheels 20 and 21 are moved forward or backward by two hands of an exerciser holding the grips 2 and 3, thereby actuating the arresting ropes 60 and 61 to wind to an extent that the two wheels 20 and 21 are eventually arrested by the arresting ropes 60 and 61. The stop member 40 is fixed to the shaft 1 by a plurality of bolt bodies 4. In light of the two wheels 20 and 21 being connected with each other by the bolts 70, the two wheels 20 and 21 turn simultaneously.
