Description
- No table or computer listing used.
- Shadebrella is an umbrella that was born out of the need for practical shade. While sitting on my patio one summer after approximately 2:00 P.M. I realize that the western sun was becoming unbearable and was limiting my use to my patio. In trying to recapture the use to that part of my home I designed a unit that would not only pivot to a ninety degree angle but could become a privacy wall once the sun went down.
- Shadebrella is a center gravity rectangular umbrella. The canvas frame of the umbrella is designed like the letter “I”, measuring 4′×6′ that can be pivoted three hundred and sixty degrees and extend between four and eight feet in height and six feet in width as a vertically privacy wall. The canvas can be removed for cleaning or replacement. To fold umbrella loosen wing-nuts located at the upper and lower center of canvas frame, both the upper wings of frame will gravitate down, the bottom wings should be rotated upwards to allow for a more compact unit when closed, measuring four feet in length and six inches in diameter for easy storage and transportation.
- This umbrella can be manufactured in three different sizes, beach, patio and cafe it's versatility will become a vital part of many homes, restaurants, cafe' and trips to the beach.

- FIG. 2D is a lower vertical position “privacy wall”
- FIG. 3 is an elevated open position
- FIG. 4 is a elevated closing position
- FIG. 5 is a front view of the pivot attached to umbrella frame
- FIG. 6 is a back view of the pivot
- FIG. 1 shows the umbrella in its elevated position with it's three components, the frame, the pivot and the stem connected in an upright front view position. The frame is constructed with ⅛″×2″×6′ aluminum strips. The pivot consist of two rotating teeth male and female nuts that are held together with a wing bolt and nut which allows for easy assembly and disassembly.
- FIG. 2A demonstrate the same position as FIG. 1
- FIG. 2B shows the umbrella in an elevated vertical position which will provide a privacy wall between the two areas where it is situated. FIG. 2C will allow the umbrella to remain in this stationary position blocking all sun from 2:00 p.m. until sunset. FIG. 2D in it's lower vertical position forms a wall which will provide privacy to a 4′×6′ area. FIG. 3 is a front of FIG. 2B FIG. 4 is demonstrating the manner in which the umbrella is closed for storage.
- FIG. 5 is a front view of the pivot, the arrow to the right of the wing-nut is illustrating the direction in which the pivot can be moved, 180 degrees in either direction. FIG. 6 shows the back view of the pivot and it's ability to rotate 180 degrees.
