Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to shoes and, more specifically, to an outsole and nameplate arrangement for shoe, in which an elastic rubber band is mounted in a backwardly extended sliding slot in the heel of the outsole to hold a nameplate inside the sliding slot. [0001]
  • Old person or young children may miss the way home when go outdoors. In order to provide a contact information, people may hung a nameplate or the like on the wrist or neck of the old person or young child who may get lost easily. By means of the contact information provided on the nameplate, people can help the old person or young child who gets lost. [0002]
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is one object of the present invention to provide an outsole and nameplate arrangement for shoe, which provides the user with a contact information so that the user can receive help from other persons when getting lost. It is another object of the present invention to provide an outsole and nameplate arrangement for shoe, which keeps the nameplate in the sole, preventing the user from losing the nameplate. According to one aspect of the present invention, the outsole and nameplate arrangement comprises an outsole having a heel and a backwardly extended sliding slot in the heel, a nameplate moved in and out of the sliding slot of the outsole, and spring means mounted inside the outsole and holding the nameplate inside the sliding slot. When pulling the nameplate out of the sliding slot of the outsole, the message on the nameplate is read. When releasing the nameplate from the hand, the spring means automatically pulls the nameplate back to the inside of the sliding slot of the outsole.[0003]
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is an elevational view of a shoe constructed according to the present invention, showing the nameplate pulled out of the sliding slot of the outsole. [0004]
  • FIG. 2 is a side view in section of the preferred embodiment of the present invention. [0005]
  • FIG. 3 is a top view showing the positioning of the springy member in the sliding slot of the outsole, the rear hook of the nameplate hooked on the springy member.[0006]
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the outsole, referenced by [0007] 1, has a backwardly extended sliding slot 12 in the heel thereof. A nameplate 14 is inserted into the sliding slot 12, having a handhold portion 144 disposed outside the outsole 1. A springy member 2 is mounted inside the sliding slot 12 and connected to one end of the nameplate 14 remote from the handhold portion 144. The springy member 2 imparts a pull force to the nameplate 14, keeping the nameplate 14 received in the sliding slot 12.
  • Referring to FIG. 3, the [0008] springy member 2 is an elastic rubber band 24 wound on two locating pins 22 inside the sliding slot 12. The nameplate 14 has a rear hook 142 hooked on elastic rubber band 24. When the nameplate 14 is released from the hand after pulling, the elastic rubber band 24 immediately returns to its former shape to pull the nameplate 14 back to the inside of the sliding slot 12. The nameplate 14 can be adhered with a message sheet, or a message can be directly written on the nameplate 14. When the user pulls the nameplate 14 out of the sliding slot 12, the message on the nameplate 14 is read. After reading of the message, the nameplate 14 is released from the hand and pulled back to the inside of the sliding slot 12 by the springy member 2.
  • While only one embodiment of the present invention has been shown and described, it will be understood that various modifications and changes could be made thereunto without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention disclosed. [0009]
