Abstract

An octagonal toy brick has a seat with two secondary seats each having an octagonal protrusion formed on a top of the secondary seat and an octagonal recess defined in a bottom of the secondary seat to correspond to the octagonal protrusion. With the combination of the octagonal protrusion and the octagonal recess, one seat is able to assemble with the other seat to form into a variety of different shapes and forms to inspire the children's imagination.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention [0001]
  • The present invention relates to an octagonal toy brick, and more particularly to a octagonal toy brick which is able to be assembled transversely or vertically to form into a space for children to play inside the space. [0002]
  • 2. Description of Related Art [0003]
  • A conventional toy brick normally is made to have triangular, circular or rectangular shape, which has little inspiration to the children who play with the brick. That is why after a period of time, the toy brick will be abandoned by the children and parents will have to find a way to dispose the brick, which is quite a waste in money and effort as well. [0004]
  • To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention intends to provide an improved octagonal toy brick to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems. [0005]
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary objective of the invention is to provide an octagonal toy brick using seven different sides to transversely assemble with another octagonal toy brick and octagonal protrusion and recess on opposed ends to assemble with another octagonal brick in an upright direction so as from into a variety of different shapes for the children to play with. [0006]
  • Other objects, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.[0007]
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of an octagonal toy brick constructed in accordance with the present invention; [0008]

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • With reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, an octagonal toy brick in accordance with the present invention has a base ([0013] 1) and two secondary octagonal seats (11,12) integrally formed together. Each secondary octagonal seat (11,12) has eight sides (111,121) and one side of each of the two secondary seats (11,12) is securely engaged with the other, such that the base (1) has only fourteen sides exposed to the air. With such an arrangement, the user is able to use different combination of the sides to form into a pathway for children to walk on.
  • Each of the secondary octagonal seats ([0014] 11,12) has an octagonal protrusion (112,122) formed on a top of each of the secondary octagonal seats (11,12) and an octagonal recess (113,123) defined in a bottom of each of the secondary octagonal seats (11,12) to correspond to the octagonal protrusion (112,122), such that one base (1) is able to assemble with another base (1) in an upright direction by resting the octagonal protrusion (112,122) in the corresponding octagonal recess (113,123).
  • With reference to FIG. 3, with the fourteen sides of the base ([0015] 1), the base (1) is able to assemble with another base (1) into any desired shape and form so as to inspire the children's imagination.
  • With reference to FIG. 4, by resting the octagonal protrusion ([0016] 112,122) into the corresponding octagonal recess (113,123), the children is able to make a stairway to walk on so as to practice the balance of the children.
  • With reference to FIG. 5, because of the octagonal shape, two triangular notches ([0017] 13,14) are defined between two secondary octagonal seats (11,12), such that children is able to stack one seat (1) over the other by using the triangular notches (13,14).
  • Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed. Claims (2)

What is claimed is:
1. An octagonal toy brick comprising:
a base with two octagonal secondary seats securely engaged with the other so that each of the octagonal secondary seats has only seven sides exposed to the air and two triangular notches defined between two secondary octagonal seats so that one seat is able to assemble with another seat transversely or in an upright direction.
2. The octagonal toy brick as claimed in claim 1, wherein each of the two secondary seats has an octagonal protrusion formed on a top of each of the secondary seats and an octagonal recess defined in a bottom of each of the secondary seats to correspond to the octagonal protrusion, thereby allowing the resting of the octagonal protrusion of one seat in the octagonal recess of another seat.
