Abstract

A liner that has been molded to fit the shape of the base of a cabinet. This liner is designed with a higher back and sides with the lowest side being in the front, so that if the liner over flows the water would be forced out of the front of the liner allowing for easy detection. The liner has a drain plug installed in the front of the liner so that water that has pooled in the liner could be easily drained. This liner is designed to fold when needed so that it would fit in larger base cabinets.

Description

  • The present invention relates to a liner that will fit the bottom of a kitchen, bathroom or other cabinets. In particular this liner is designed to hold water that could leak from a trap pipe or other sources. This liner is fitted with a drain plug so that if water has accumulated in the liner it could be easily expelled. This liner when made in larger sizes is designed to fold, with the aid of a flexible hinge. [0001]

  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • Traditionally cabinets are made of a wood product or of a metal product. In either occasion these products when exposed to water for long periods of time will decay. A base cabinet is not framed to hold water, therefore, water will run on to the floor and cause damage. It could cause damage to the floor tile, the flooring it self or even to the floor joists. [0005]
  • This invention is designed to hold enough water with an overflow to allow for the possibility of a discovery of a leak before damage is done to the base of the cabinet floor. [0006]
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The preferred embodiment of the present invention would be to mold a liner made to the size of the base cabinet. This liner would be made higher on the back of the liner and higher on the sides of the liner. The front of the base cabinet liner would be lower, so that if the liner fills up with water the water would not over flow from the back or sides. Therefore, the water would be directed to overflow in the front of the liner where detection would be eminent. This liner will be manufactured from a durable material. This liner is designed so that it could be drained from a drain sprout located in the front of the liner. The object of this invention is to offer protection to base cabinets and other building structures that could be damaged from a water leak.[0007]
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING
  • FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of a molded cabinet liner with the back and sides higher than the front. This view also shows the front of the liner where the drain plug has been installed. [0008]
  • FIG. 2 shows a perspective view of a folding double floor cabinet liner. This double folding liner is designed for easy installation in cabinets located in areas with limited space. [0009]
  • FIG. 3 is the cabinet liner of figure two shown in it's folded position.[0010]
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • Referring to FIG. 1. A molded liner that has been shaped to fit the bottom of a base cabinet. The plastic liner for use under sinks and [0011] basins 10 single liner 12 liner floor, 14 rear wall, 16 side walls, 18 lower front wall, 20 drain in 18. 22 drain plug, 30 folding liner, 32 liner floor half, 34 second half liner floor 36 hinge, 38 wall-1st half, 40 rear wall-2nd half. 44 side wall-2nd half, 46 short front wall-1st half 48 short front wall-2nd half.
  • While certain preferred embodiments of the present invention have been disclosed in detail, it is to be understood that various modifications in its structure may be adopted without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the following claim. [0012]

Claims (3)
