Abstract
A retractable umbrella jacket structure which can be assembled and disassembled comprising a water-guiding plug, water-collection collar and umbrella jacket, screw ring, the water-guiding plug allowing the tip of the umbrella to pass through and being secured, and the water-guiding plug passed through the water-collection collar, and the umbrella jacket being a plurality of tapered mounting rings, characterized in that the top end of the water-collection collar is mounted with a hollow screw seat, after the first mounting ring is mounted onto the water-collection collar, screwed ring is secured to the screw seat such that the umbrella jacket is engaged at the water-collection jacket, and if the screwed ring is removed, the umbrella jacket is disengaged from the water-collection jacket, and the hollow screw seat of the water-collection jacket is mounted with a spring and a water-discharging valve, the water discharging valve is a hollow cap extended with a teeth-like valve rod having an inverted hook at the top end of the valve rod, and the inverted hook passes through the through hole of a partition board at the top of the hollow screw seat and a water-leakage pad is mounted, and the extension of spring causes the through hole is blocked by the water leakage pad.
Description
- 1. (a) Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a retractable umbrella jacket structure, which can be assembled and disassembled function, and in particular, an umbrella jacket which is used to collect water in the rainy day when the umbrella is folded to enter a shade or a room so that no water is dripping off to wet the floor.
- 2. (b) Description of the Prior Art
- Conventional umbrella jacket comprises a plurality of segments of mounting rings in tapered shape and are retractable but in engaged with one another. The umbrella jacket normally cannot be detached form the tip of the umbrella and this jacket provides an excellent function in a rainy day to collect water when the umbrella is folded. But, in a sunny day, this umbrella jacket on the umbrella being not needed destroys the aesthetic appearance of the umbrella. Taiwan Patent Publication No. 258873 relates to a retractable safety umbrella jacket with water collection function and light reflection function. In this conventional structure, the umbrella jacket and the umbrella are combined together and both elements cannot be separated from each other. This conventional umbrella jacket is permanently mounted onto the tip of the umbrella and cannot be removed even if the jacket is not needed.
- Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to a retractable umbrella jacket structure which can be assembled and disassembled comprising a water-guiding plug, water-collection collar and umbrella jacket, screw ring, the water-guiding plug allowing the tip of the umbrella to pass through and to secure thereon, and the water-guiding plug passed through the water-collection collar, and the umbrella jacket being a plurality of tapered mounting rings, characterized in that the top end of the water-collection collar is mounted with a hollow screw seat, after the first mounting ring is mounted onto the water-collection collar, screwed ring is secured to the screw seat such that the umbrella jacket is engaged at the water-collection jacket, and if the screwed ring is removed, the umbrella jacket is disengaged from the water-collection jacket, and the hollow screw seat of the water-collection jacket is mounted with a spring and a water-discharging valve, the water discharging valve is a hollow cap extended with a teeth-like valve rod having an inverted hook at the top end of the valve rod, and the inverted hook passes through the through hole of a partition board at the top of the hollow screw seat and a water-leakage pad is mounted, and the extension of spring causes the through hole is blocked by the water leakage pad.
- Yet another object of the present invention to provide a retractable umbrella jacket structure, wherein the bottom end of the protruded stripe is provided with a protrusion and the height of the protrusion is higher than the height of the stripe.
- A further object of the present invention to provide a retractable umbrella jacket structure, wherein the bottom end of the hollow cap is provided with a plurality of water discharging holes for discharging of water.
- Other object and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent from the following description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawing.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective exploded view of the umbrella jacket, and the water-collection collar of the umbrella of the present invention.

- Referring to FIG. 1, there is shown a perspective exploded view of the umbrella jacket of the present invention. As shown in the figure, the
umbrella tip 41 of theumbrella 4 can be inserted into thecenter hole 61 of the water-guidingplug 6. Thestopper 62 located on the top end of the guidingplug 6 can be inserted into the bottom section of the water-collection collar 1 and is secured by a plurality of protrudedribs 18 provided at the inner wall of the water-collection collar 1. The water-collection collar 1 can pass through theumbrella jacket 2 formed from a plurality of multiple segments ofmounting rings 21. Ascrew ring 3 is mounted to thehollow screw seat 11 at the top end of the water-collection collar 1 such that theumbrella jacket 2 cannot be dislocated from the water-collection collar 1 and is combined with theumbrella 4 as a unit, which is shown in FIG. 2. When the multiple segments of themounting rings 2 are extended, theentire umbrella 4 is enclosed within theumbrella jacket 2. - FIG. 3 shows the retraction of the
mounting rings 21 into a single unit before theumbrella 4 is opened. - As shown in FIG. 4, when the
umbrella jacket 2 is not in use, the screw ring is released and theumbrella jacket 2 can be removed from the water-collection collar 1, and the water-collection collar 1 is retrained at theumbrella tip 41. The umbrella fabric of theumbrella 4 is opened to provide its function to block sunlight. - FIG. 5 is a perspective view of the water-collection collar. As shown in the figure, the
hollow screw seat 11 is provided with a water-dischargingvalve 12 and an extendedspring 13. Thedischarging valve 12 has a teeth-like valve rod 122 extended from thehollow cap 121, and thevalve rod 122 has aneck portion 123 and a conic shapedinverted hook 124. The bottom section of thehollow cap 121 is provided with a plurality ofwater discharging holes 125. Thespring 13 is located at the outer surrounding of the teeth-like valve rod 122 and located within thehollow cap 121. The top portion of thescrew seat 11 is apartition board 14 having a throughhole 15. Aleakage proof pad 16 is provided on thepartition board 14 and the conic invertedhook 124 of thewater discharging valve 12 is located behind the through hole and thepad 16. Thepad 16 is located at theneck portion 123. At this instance, the water-dischargingvalve 12 is secured at thehollow screw seat 11, as shown in FIG. 6. FIG. 6 is a schematic view showing the collection of water in the water-collection collar. The guidingplug 6 has astopper 62 to mount theplug 6 onto the hole of the water-collection collar 1. The surface of thestopper 62 is provided with a plurality of vertical guidinggrooves 63 and the collected water will flow downward. A plurality ofblocking blocks 64 on thestopper 62 is used to block the hole, and theconic jacket 65 on theblocking block 64 is used to adapt the umbrella tip. The water-dischargingvalve 12 is located at the bottom end of the water-collection collar 1. The extension of thespring 13 causes thecap 121 to protruded outside thehollow screw seat 11 and at the same time, theinverted hook 124 urges thepad 16 and blocks thehole 15. Thus, the collectedwater 5 in the water-collection collar 1 cannot be drained out through thehole 15. - FIG. 7 is a sectional view of the umbrella with the umbrella jacket, wherein water has been discharged. The user presses the water-discharging
valve 12 downward to the ground, and thedischarging value 12 moves upward. The invertedhook 124 and thepad 16 do not block thehole 15, and the collectedwater 5 can be discharged through thehole 15. Due to the vertical teeth-shaped grooves 122 a (refer to FIG. 8), the collectedwater 5 will flow downward along the teeth-shaped grooves 122 a, and finally, the water is discharged through the water-discharginghole 125 at the bottom of thehollow cap 121. - FIG. 9 is the structural view of the
mounting rings 21. Themounting ring 21 is one segment of the umbrella jacket, which is a conic (tapered) shape. The inner wall of themounting ring 21 has a plurality of verticalprotruded stripes 211, and the height of theprotruded stripes 211 is gradually becoming lower from bottom to the top. The inner wall ring at the top edge of themounting ring 21 is provided with aprotruded ring 213, and the inner wall ring of the bottom edge is provided with a plurality of arch-shaped protrudedblocking block 214. The external wall of the bottom edge is mounted with a ring of external protrudedring 215. - Referring to FIG. 10, there is shown the retraction of the mounting
ring 21. In the preferred embodiment, two mountingrings 21 are employed. When the upper mountingring 21 is to be retracted into thelower mounting ring 21, the vertical protrudedstripe 211 will rub against the external protrudedring 215 until the external protrudedring 215 passes beyond theprotrusion 212′, that is, it is positioned between theprotrusion 212′ and theblocking block 214′, as shown in FIG. 11. On the other hand, when the mounting rings 21 are to be extended, the upper and thebottom mounting ring 21 are extended, as shown in FIGS. 6 and 7. The external protrudedring 215 is blocked by the inner protrudedring 213′ of the mountingring 21 and extension further of the mounting ring is blocked. - FIG. 12 is a schematic view showing the retraction of the
umbrella jacket 2. The bottom edge of water-collection collar 1 is an external protrudedring 17 and the external protrudedring 17 is positioned between theprotrusion 212 and theblocking block 214, and the inner protrudedring 213 at the top end of the first mountingring 21 is blocked by the screw ring such that the first mountingring 21 will not dislocate from thewater collection collar 1. If thescrew ring 3 is removed from thescrew seat 11 of the top end of the water-collection collar 1, the top end of the first mountingring 21 will not be blocked and therefore, thefirst ring 21 can be dislocated from the water-collection collar 1. - While the invention has been described with respect to preferred embodiment, it will be clear to those skilled in the art that modifications and improvements may be made to the invention without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Therefore, the invention is not to be limited by the specific illustrative embodiment, but only by the scope of the appended claims.
Claims (8)
1. An umbrella jacket structure which can be assembled and disassembled comprising a water-guiding plug, water-collection collar and umbrella jacket, screw ring, the water-guiding plug allowing the tip of the umbrella to pass through and being secured, and the water-guiding plug passed through the water-collection collar, and the umbrella jacket being a plurality of tapered mounting rings, characterized in that the top end of the water-collection collar is mounted with a hollow screw seat, after the first mounting ring is mounted onto the water-collection collar, screwed ring is secured to the screw seat such that the umbrella jacket is engaged at the water-collection jacket, and if the screwed ring is removed, the umbrella jacket is disengaged from the water-collection jacket, and the hollow screw seat of the water-collection jacket is mounted with a spring and a water-discharging valve, the water discharging valve is a hollow cap extended with a teeth-like valve rod having an inverted hook at the top end of the valve rod, and the inverted hook passes through the through hole of a partition board at the top of the hollow screw seat and a water-leakage pad is mounted, and the extension of spring causes the through hole is blocked by the water leakage pad.
2. An umbrella jacket structure as set forth in , wherein the bottom end of the hollow cap is provided with a plurality of water-discharging holes for discharging of water.

An umbrella jacket structure as set forth in , wherein the inner wall of the mounting ring of the umbrella jacket is provided with a plurality of vertical protruded ribs and the height of thereof is gradually lower from the bottom to the top, and the external wall of the bottom edge of the mounting ring is provided with an externally protruded ring, and the externally protruded ring and the vertical protruded stripe provide fiction, to increase degree of sealing when each mounting ring is connected to next mounting ring.

4. An umbrella jacket structure as set forth in , wherein the bottom end of the protruded stripe is provided with a protrusion and the height of the protrusion is higher than the height of the stripe.

5. An umbrella jacket structure as set forth in , wherein the inner wall ring of the bottom end edge of the mounting ring is provided with a plurality of arch-shaped protruded blocking ring and the blocking ring and the protrusion are used to clip the external protruded ring.

6. An umbrella jacket structure as set forth in , wherein the bottom edge of the water-collection collar is provided with an external protruded ring and the ring is positioned between the protrusion of the first knot mounting jacket and the blocking ring.

7. An umbrella jacket structure as set forth in , wherein the water-guiding plug is a stopper having a blocking block and the bottom of the block is provided with a conic jacket having a center hole allowing the tip of the umbrella to pass through.

8. An umbrella jacket structure as set forth in , wherein the surface of the stopper has a plurality of vertical grooves allowing the collected water to be discharged.
