A slidably mounted reciprocating link member Ell interconnects a pair oi trip members 55 preferably made integral with the pawls 43 and each disengages its pawl when the ribbon on its roller has attained sufficient volume. A pair of guide rollers l and 58 are mounted upon the frame members il for guiding the ribbon. Carried on the end of the shaft I3 remote from the lock nut 34 is a restoring lever E@ adapted to engage the restoring rod 3|. A repeat print lever Si is pivoted intermediate its ends upon a stud 52 and has one of its ends in coactive relation with the restoring rod 3l as indicated at 53, and carries at its other end an operating handle 1.
In Figures 7 and 8 there is shown a modified iorm of disc having either a large portion of its radius reduced as indicated at 5 or a small portion reduced as indicated at l. It will be seen that such construction allows for the non-engagement of such discs by the restoring rod 3l. This is particularly desirable in the case of discs bearing indicia which would o1 necessity repeatedly have to be set in the same place but for such construction, as, for example, month and day indicia. It is to be understood that such modied discs are to be utilized in conjunction with those above described.
In the operation of the particular embodiment or^ the invention disclosed by the accompanying drawings a paper, card or the like is first placed beneath the discs 35 through a suitable opening el. The levers 3l are then pulled downwardly in the slots 22 until the desired indicia on the bands 39 appear in the openings 4B. .v The type on the bands 36 corresponding to such indicia will then be in position directlyover the pressure plate 2l with the paper or card and the ribbon 5l interposed.
The handle l 4 is then rotated in a clockwise direction, thereby rst causing a quick upward movement of the pressure plate 2l and accordingly an impression of the type upon the paper and upon further rotation causing the mechanism to return to its original position ready for resetting. Y i

This causes the rod to engage the rear portion of the discs 35 turning them clockwise until they have reached what may properly' be .termed their zero position, whereupon the rod 3l is moved by the guide slots out of the path of the lever 6l] and upon the completion of one revo- .lution of the handle i4 the cam l5 will again be .in position and the whole mechanism ready for resetting.
In case it be desired to repeat a particular printing upon the saine or a different card, paper or the like, it is only necessary to move the handle 'i' forwardly. This will cause its opposite end to engage the rod 3l and remove it from the path of the lever 85. The remainder of the operation is the same as above described except that the but that various minor modications may be l0 made therein without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the appended claims.
What is claimed is:
1. A printing device consisting of a base, a pair of supporting members mounted thereon, a drum carried by the supporting members, a plurality of discs revolubly mounted upon the drum and having printing type at their lower peripheries and levers at theirupper portions for setting the type in desired position, a spring actuated pressure plate for engaging the positioned type, means for operatingthe pressure plate including a bell crank lever carrying the plate at one end, a spring tending to force the plate in the direction of the type, a cam plate engaging the other end of the lever and having an irregular opening therein, a cam having an offset portion revolubly positioned within the opening and adapted to allow a sudden movement of the pressure plate when the oiTse-t portion coincides with a portion of the opening in the cam plate and a handle for operating the same, and means for restoring the discs to their original position including a bar slidably mounted in the supporting members and adapted to engage portions of the discs and a lever operable by the handle for moving the bar.
2. cam having an offset portion revolubly positioned within the opening-and adapted to ,allow a sudden movement of the pressure plate when the offset portion coincides with a portion of the opening in the cam plate and a handle for operating the '55 same, means for restoring the discs to their orig-l inal position including a bar slidably mounted in the supporting members and adapted to engage portions of the discs and a lever operable by the handle for moving the bar and repeat mechanism v for rendering the restoring means inoperative including a latch for moving the bar out of the path of the lever and a handle for operating the latch.
3. A printing device consisting of a plurality of revolubly mounted discs having printing type '65 at their lower peripheries and having levers for setting the type in desired position, a spring actuated pressure plate, means operable by a handle for releasing the plate against the positioned type,
and a bar simultaneously operable by the handle to engage the discs to returny them to original position, wherein certain of the discs are variably cut away to render the action of the bar thereon variable.
4. A printing device consisting of a plurality of revolubly mounted discs having printing type at their lower peripheries and having levers for setting the type in desired position, a spring actuated pressure plate, means operable by a handle for releasing the plate against the positioned type, and a bar simultaneously operable by the handle to engage the discs to return them to original position, certain of the discs having portions out away whereby engagement of the bar therewith on each operation of the handle is less than the engagement of the bar with others of the discs.
