5 Claims.
.My invention relates to wall clips, and the objects of my invention are:
First, to provide a clip of this class which is particularly suited for the construction of walls which utilize channel iron members for studding, and have positioned-between the studding insulated'center pieces or cores formed of Wall board or the like, and over which is spread stucco or plaster;
Second, to provide a clip of this class which is particularly suited for temporary partition walls or other relatively thin interior walls;
Third, to provide a clip of this class which greatly facilitates the construction of the wall with which it is used, and which when in position holds the several panels of insulating material in their proper relation;
Fourth, to provide a clip of this class which becomes imbedded in the stucco so as to form a reinforcing connecting the panel members to each other and to the channel iron studding; and
Fifth, to provide on the whole a novelly constructed wall clip which is simple of construction in proportion to its function, efiicient in its action, and which will not readily deteriorate or get out of order.
With these and other objects in view as will appear hereinafter, my invention consists of certain novel features of construction, combination, and arrangement of parts and portions as will be hereinafter described in detail and particularly set forth in the appended claims, reference being had to the accompanying drawing and to the characters of reference thereon which form a part of this application, in which;
Figure 1 is a perspective view of my wall clip; Fig. 2 is a plan view of the wall clip shown in conjunction with a channel iron and a wall panel to illustrate the manner in which it is initially secured; Fig. 3 is a similar plan view with the channel iron and panel in section showing the clip secured to one partition or panel; Fig. 4 is an end elevational View thereof from the line fi4 of Fig. 8; Fig. 5 is another plan View of the wall clip after the adjacent or second panel has been positioned; and Fig. 6 is a side elevational view thereof taken through 6-6 of Fig. 5.

The wall clip is formed of a single piece of wire which is initially bent U-shaped forming a cross portion I. The legs are bent to form loops 2 which are arranged along a common axis disposed substantially parallel with the cross portion l.

This arranges the loop 2 in parallel relation at the extremities of the cross portion. The extremities of the wire are extended underneath the cross portion I forming substantially tangentially disposed arms 3. The extremities of these armsare provided with inturned prongs 4.
The use of the clip in conjunction with the building of a wall is as follows: The channel iron 'studding S arepositioned the desired distance apart, and panels C formed of insulating material are cut to fit between the studding. The wall clips are used to hold the panels relative to the studding. The first panel is secured by pressing inwardly on the loop portions 2 of the clip so as to spread the arms 3. The arms 3 and portions of the loops 2 are then extended on either side of the channel member S, as shown in Fig. 2. The loops are then released which causes the prongs 4 to enter the panel and grip the sides of the channel iron so as to occupy the position shown in Figs. 3 and l.
The projecting portions of the loops 2 now form a guide to receive the adjacent end of the next panel. To facilitate this function the receiving ends of the loop are bent outwardly from each other, as indicated by 5. When the next panel P is positioned, it occupies the position shown in Figs. 5 and 6. After the panels are positioned, stucco or other material is applied over the surface.
Though I have shown and described a particular construction, combination, and arrangement of parts and portions, I do not wish to be limited to this particular construction, combination and arrangement but desire to include in the scope of my invention the construction, combination and arrangement substantially as set forth in the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. The combination with a wall comprising studdin'g and panels disposed therebetween; of a clip for relatively securing the studding and panels including, a pair of parallel disposed loop portions, a pair of arm members extending substantially tangentially therefrom, and a connecting bar connecting said loop portions and extending over said arm members for holding said arm members from spreading and so arranged that the arms protrude in one direction and the loop portions in the opposite direction therefrom, said arms adapted to pass on opposite sides of the studding and adjacent margin of a panel, said loops adapted to receive a margin of an adjacent panel therebetween.
2. In a Wall clip, a pair of parallel disposed complete loop portions, a pair of arm members extending substantially tangentially therefrom, and a connecting bar connecting said loop portions and extending over said arm members for holding said arm members from spreading and so arranged that the arms protrude in one direction and the loop portions in the opposite direction therefrom.
3. The combination with a Wall comprising studding and panels disposed therebetween; of a clip for relatively securing the studding andpanels including, a pair or" parallel disposed loop portions, a pair of arm members extending substane tially tangentially therefrom, and a connecting bar connecting said loop portions and extending over said arm members for holding said arm members from spreading and so arranged that the arms protrude in one direction and the loop portions in the opposite direction therefrom, said arms adapted to pass on opposite sides of the studding and adjacent margin of a panel, said loops adapted to receive a margin of an adjacent panel therebetween, securing prongs at the extremities of said arms, and guide portions at the extended opposite portions of said loops.
4. A wall clip comprising a single length of Wire shaped to form, a pair of parallel disposed complete loop portions, a pair of arm members extending substantially tangentially therefrom, and a connecting bar connecting said loop portions and extending over said arm members for holding said arm members from spreading and so arranged that the arms protrude in one direction and the loop portions in the opposite direction therefrom.
5. A wall clip comprising, a single length of wire shaped to form a pair of parallel disposed complete circular loop portions secured in parallel relation by means of an integral connecting interposed centrally 01 said single length of wire at right angles to the plane of said loop portions, and a pair of arm members extending substantially tangentially from the opposite ends or said single length 01 wire, said ends extending between the opposite ends or said loop portions and under said connecting bar whereby the extended ends are held from spreading by said bar and loop portions.
