a Claims.

The object of my invention is to provide a garment which will be very simple in construction, inexpensive to manufacture, and comfortable to wear.

Practical embodiments of my invention are rep resented in the accompanying drawings, in which:

Fig. 1 represents a perspective front view of one form of my garment;

Fig. 2 represents a perspective back view of the same;

Fig. 3 represents a perspective side view of the garment;

Fig. 4 represents a perspective front view of a modified form of front garment;

Fig. 5 represents a, perspective back view of the same; and

Fig. 6 represents a perspective side view of the garment.

The front and back uprising portions] and 2 of the garment are formed from a single piece of suitable flexible fabric, such, for instance, as cotton cloth. The back portion 2 of the garment is preferably tapered, to give a greater degree of comfort to the wearer.

The upper ends of the uprising front and back portions of the garment are provided with re-inforcing

waistbands

Short elastic tapes 5 and 0 connect the adjacent ends of the

In the form shown in Figs. 1 to 3 inclusive, the elastic tapes are permanently attached to the waistbands, while in the form shown in Figs. 4 to 6 inclusive, the elastic tapes are shown as adjustable as to length, by the buckles I, 8, and their looped free ends, which looped free ends are removably attached to'their adjacent ends of one of the waistbands. One means for removable attachment would be by providing the waistband with stludlszt, i0, and the elastic tape loops with hooks The back portion of the garment is fulled so as to give added comfort to the wearer. In the present instance ,I have shown the back -portion of the garment as being fulled by providing with a vertically disposed box pleat ll.

If so desired, the front portion of the garment may be provided with a fly it. In the present instance I have shown this fly in the embodiment illustrated in Figs. 4 to 6 inclusive.

From the above description it will be seen that I have provided-a very simple and elective gari nent which can be worn by either sex with com- It is evident that various changes may be resorted to in the construction, form and arrangement of the several parts without departing from the spirit and scope of my invention, and hence I do not intend to be limited to the particular 5 embodiments herein shown and described, but

What I claim is:

1. A garment comprising a straight strip of fabric narrower at one end than the other and folded midway its length to form uprising front 10 and back portions the upper ends of which are provided with reinforcing waistbands of uniform width throughout, and elastic tapes connecting the ends of the adjacent front and back waistbands, the back portion of the garment being fulled to within a small distance of the midway fold. V

A. garmentcomprising a straight strip of fabric narrower at one end than the other and folded midway its length to form uprising front and back portions the upper ends of which are provided with reinforcing waistbands of uniform width throughout, and elastic tapes connecting the ends of the adjacent front and back waistbands, the back portion of the garment having a vertically disposed box pleat extending downwardly a portion of its length to within a small distance of the midway fold.

A garment comprising a straight strip of fabric narrower at one end than the other and 0 folded midway its length to form uprising front and back portions the upper ends of which are provided with reinforcing waistbands of uniform width throughout, and elastic tapes connecting the ends of the adjacent front and back waistbands, the back portion of the garment being tapered outwardly from the midway fold to'the waistband and fulled to within a small distance of the midway fold.

A garment comprising a straight strip of 40 fabric narrower at one end than the other and folded midway its length to form uprising front and back. portions the upper ends of which are provided with reinforcing waistbands of uniform width throughout, and elastic tapes connecting the ends of the adjacent front and back waist.- bands, the back portion of the garment being tapered outwardly from the midway fold to the waistband and having a vertically dhposed box 50 pleat extending downwardly aportion of its lengthtowithinasmall distanceofthemidway fold.
