A box or carton having a front panel, a bottom composed of several overlapping, united flaps, some of said flaps having aligned recesses at the front of the box, one of said flaps being an imperforate flap, a tear-out panel in the front of the box being connected with a portion made up of a part of the imperforate flap and so shaped that when it and said portions are removed it will form a recess in the imperforate flap in alignment with the recesses. in the other flaps without disturbing the relationship of the removed, said panel being connected with a portion made up of a tear-out part of the imperiorate flap, which part lies in registration with the aligned recesses in several of the united flaps so that when the tear-out panel and said portion are removed a recess corresponding to and in? alignmentwith the recesses in the several united flaps will be produced in the imperforate flap without disturbing the relationship of said flap to the other flaps, a portion of'the tear-out panel serving to form a finger opening in the front panel when the tear-out panel is removed.

A box or carton provided with a front wall and overlapping bottom closure flaps, said bottom flaps being all of' substantially the samesize, several of said closure flaps being provided with recesses in one of their edges, the recesses being located in alignment when the flaps are in overlapped relationship, a tear-out panel formed in the front of the box, said panel when removed producing a discharge slot, said tearout panel being connected with a tear-out portion of one of the bottom flaps, said portion when removed with the tear-out panel, forming a recess in the flap of which it was a part, which recess lies in alignment with the recesses in the other bottom flaps so that the several aligned recesses co-operate to form a finger opening ex tending through the several similarly-sized bottom flaps, the front wall of the box also having a finger opening formed by the removal of the tear-out panel, the several similarly sized bottom flaps forming a multi-layered bottom of uniform thickness for the box on which the contents thereof are supported.
