At this point, the tab 20 bears against the cigarette paper, slides thereover, and causes the free edge of the sheet to also slide over the cigarette paper and functions to prevent the cigarette paper from wrapping around the outside of the sheet, as the tab directs the said edge 18 forwardly while the outer edge of the paper rolls inside of the gummed edge 13. The continued forward movement of the inturned edge of the sheet 15 will finally accomplish the complete wrapping of the paper around the tobacco t and the moistened gummed edge will adhere thereto, completing the rolling operation.
The upper or inner surface a: of the sheet 15 is of sufficient character to prevent slippage of the cigarette paper thereon while, the outeror lower ribbed surface will give the necessary traction to the fingers in accomplishing the rolling operations previously described.
The tab 20 in addition to performing the function' stated may serve the secondary purpose of retaining the'device in closed relation embracing the cigarette paper casing or carton 10 by inserting thesame within one of the slots 12', as clearly illustrated in Figures. 6 and '7.
A package of cigarette. paper, constituting a fixed part and located at one end of the wrap ping sheet, serves as a'iweight to hold this end of the sheet downwardly and prevents it from rolling upwardly while the other end of the. sheet is being manipulated to roll a cigarette.
While there has been illustrated and described a preferred embodiment. of the invention, no
.limitation is intended to the precise structural details set forth, as variations and modifications thereof which fall within the scope of the appended claims mayv beresorted to when desired.
,What is claimed is: I
1. A cigarette rolling device comprising a flexible sheet, and a cigarette pap'er engaging tab on the free end of the sheet narrower than the sheet.
2. A cigarette rolling device comprising a flexible sheet, and a cigarette paper engaging tab on the free end of the sheet narrower than the sheet, said tab located centrally of the sheet.
3. A cigarette rolling device comprising a flexible sheet, a cigarette paper engaging tab on the free end of the sheet narrower than the sheet, and ribs fixed to the back of the sheet and tab, said ribs stiffening the sheet and tab ,laterally and permitting flexibility longitudinally of the tab and sheet.
4. A cigarette rolling device comprising a flexible sheet, a cigarette paper engaging tab on the free end of the sheet narrower than the sheet, said tab. located centrally of the sheet, and ribs fixed tothe back of the sheet and tab, said ribs stiffening the sheet laterally and permitting flexibility longitudinally of the tab and sheet.
5. A cigarette rolling device comprising a sheet flexible longitudinally andrigidlaterally or transversely, a cigarette paper engaging tab fixed to one end of thesheet, and a cigarette paper package fixed to the other end of the sheet, said package so arranged as to permit 'a sheet of cigarette paper to be drawn therefrom directly onto the surface of the sheetto receive tobacco to be rolled into a cigarette.
6. A cigarette rolling device comprising a sheet flexible longitudinally and rigid transversely, said sheetadapted to receive a cigarette paper with tobacco thereon and adapted, when grasped adjacent its end portions between the thumb and fingers ofthe hands, to roll the cigarette paper around the tobacco and within the sheet, and a cigarette paper-engaging tab at the intermediate portion and at the free end of the sheet adapted to engage the cigarette paper and prevent it from winding or wrapping around the outside of the flexible sheet While the latter is rolling the cigarette.
