2 Claims.

This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in game apparatus.

The primary object of the invention is to provide a game apparatus of novel construction to be played similarly to the game of pool or pocket billiards and comprised of a set of pins of peculiar formation to be assembled in the form of a triangle, similar to the racking of balls in the game of pool with a cue block to be thrown by a player for knocking over or upsetting the pins.

With the above and other objects in View that will become apparent as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same consists in the novel form, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, shown in the accompanying drawing and claimed.

Figure l is a top plan View of the assembled pins of the game apparatus arranged in triangular formation similar to the racking of balls in the game of pool, the heads of the pins being. sequentially numbered from 1 to 15;

Figure 2 is a side elevational view of the pins arranged in triangular formation showing the double top for each pin with the forward pin number 1 of lesser height than the other pins;

Figure 3 is a perspective view of the missile or one block employed in the playing of the game; and

Figure 4 is a vertical longitudinal sectional view taken on line 44 of Figure 1 showing the pin of greater height than diameter with the inclination of the double bevelled top offset from the vertical axis for the lateral positioning of the center of balance.

The game apparatus comprises a plurality of pins 5 constructed of any suitable material, the pins being cylindrical in cross section and of greater height than diameter. Each pin has a fiat bottom wall 6 to facilitate the positioning thereof in upright position and the upper end of the pin 5 has a double bevel extending in opposite directions designated by the reference numerals '7 and 8. The bevelled faces 7 and 8 are formed on different angles, the angle of the bevel face 7 traversing the central vertical axis of the block 5 to merge into the forward edge of the bevel face 8 at a point laterally of the vertical axis of the pin 5. The bevel face 8 is of shorter length than the bevel face '1 and is formed on the pin 5 at a point above the lower end of the bevel face 7 as shown in Figure 4. This arrangement of the bevel faces 7 and 8 shifts the center of balance of the pin 5 laterally of the vertical axis whereby the upsetting of the pin 5 may be more readily accomplished when the same is hit by a missile or cue block.

in this game apparatus and the pins are sequentially numbered as at 9 to 15 respectively, the numbers 9 being formed on the bevel faces 7 and directed toward the players of the game. A missile or cue block 10 as shown in Figure 3 is employed in the playing of the game and its use will now be described.

It will be observed from an inspection of Figure 2 that the pins 5 that are numbered 2 to 15 respectively are of equal height, but that the pin 5 carrying the numeral 1 is of lesser height than the other pins. The game may be played indoors or outdoors, the pins being arranged in triangular formation as shown in Figure l and the player or players from a suitable or predetermined distance throw the one block 10 toward the assembled pins and endeavor to first strike pin numbered 1 to upset the same. The playing of the game is rendered more diflicult by lessening the height of pin numbered 1 and it is necessary to first strike the pin numbered 1 or the lowest numbered pin standing. Should more than one pin be upset, if the lowest numbered pin standing is first hit, all of such pins upset count in the scoring of the player and the player having the largest score determined by the addition of the numerals 9 upon the pin after all of the pins have been upset, wins the game.

While there is herein shown and described the preferred embodiment of the invention, it is nevertheless to be understood that minor changes may be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.

I claim:-

1. Game apparatus of the character described comprising a series of pins, each pin having a flat bottom and a double bevelled upper end with a designating number or character on one of the bevelled faces, and the angles of the bevelled faces being of different pitch whereby the center of balance of the pin is olfset relative to the vertical axis of the pin.

2. Game apparatus of the character described comprising a series of pins, each pin having a flat bottom and a double bevelled upper end with a designating number or character on one of the bevelled faces, and the angles of the bevelled faces being of different pitch whereby the center of balance of the pin is offset relative to the vertical axis of the pin, and said pins being of greater height than diameter.
