1 marks the tubes, these being parallel and vertically arranged as in an ordinary furnace wall and ordinarily being connected up with a circulating system of a water heating means. Lining blocks 2 are arranged along the inner face of the tubes, these blocks having the curved portions 3 engaging the inner portions of the tubes, the blocks ordinarily leaving a portion of the tubes between adjacent lining blocks uncovered, but the forming of the lining blocks in a manner leaving a portion of the tubes uncovered is not universally followed and is not necessary in the present invention.
Bridge pieces 4 engage the rear faces of the screws 5 with the lining blocks having screw threaded sockets 6 for receiving the screws. The bridge pieces have grooves '7, the walls of which engage the inner faces of the tubes.

The bridge pieces and lining blocks have heretofore prevented the movement of the tubes the locking of the tubes against spreading assures a more rigid wall and more certainly secures the tubes in their proper relation.
In order that the bridge pieces may pass beyond the center of the tubes, have the ends of the bridge pieces bridging one space overlap the ends of the bridge pieces bridging the next adjacent space. One manner of accomplishing this is to form the bridge pieces with forked and single ends. make them of one shape they are preferably formed with a fork 8 at one end and a single end 9 opposite the forked end. In this way the forked ends receive the single extensions of the ends of the next laterally adjacent bridge and 7 thus form the overlap so that each bridge piece may pass beyond the center of the tubes engaged and thus lock the tubes in place.
In order that the bridge pieces may actually draw the tubes toward each other I prefer to extend the walls of the grooves 7 in the form of the cam surfaces 4a, the tendency of which is to draw the tubes together and into close engagement with the surfaces 3 as the screws are set up. a
What I claim as new is:-
'1. In a wall construction, the combination of wall supports in parallel spaced relation; lining blocks on the inner face of the supports, said blocks extending between the supports and having surface engagement with the supports tending to separate the supports; bridge pieces bridging adjacent supports and interlocking with the faces of the supports remote from the spaces bridged to prevent spreading; and means extend- 95- ing between. the supports and connecting the bridge pieces and the blocks.
. 2. In a wall construction, wall supports in parallel spaced relation; blocks on the inner face blocks extending between the supports and having surface engagement with the supports tending to separate the supports; bridge piecesbridging adjacent spaces, said bridge pieces having the combination of lining grooves receiving the rear faces of the supports,

In a wall structure, the combination of wall supports in parallelspaced relation; lining blocks on the inner face of the supports holding the supports apart; bridge pieces bridging adjacent supports, the bridge pieces bridging the space between one pair of supports overlapping the bridge pieces bridging the next adjacent space, said bridge pieces having camming' surfaces engaging the surfaces of the tubes remote from the space bridged, each piece interlocking with the tubes engaged to prevent the spreading of the tubes; and means extending between the supports and connecting the bridge pieces and the blocks.
