The main sheet space or area 10 has on its outer face, Fig. 2, indicia. 30 constituting the return address and will usually be also designed for postage prepaid purposes, having for that purpose the authorized imprint 31 in lieu of a stamp and also the explanatory imprint 32; or evidently subject matter on this part of the blank may be varied. The outer face (Fig. 2) of fiap 23 is intended for the original address, that is, the address to be applied by the original sender of the communication to a customer, and usually has the imprinted return address 33.

In preparation for first mailing, the original addressees name and address may be lled in as at 34, Fig. 1, on the inner face of the main sheetvportion l1; or this item may of coursebe omitted. The name and address of the addressee are lled in as at 35 on the outer face of the flap 23 (Fig. 2). The blank is then ready for rst folding for the rst mailing. These operations are well explained in Figs. 3 and 4. The end flaps or portions 16 land 17 are first folded over upon the portions 10, 11 and the short flap 20 is folded over upon the end portions 16 and 17 at one end thereof, as shown in Fig. 3, the adhesive 28 of this ap 20 being at this time not moistened so that there is no adhesive attachment. The main portion of the sheet is then folded along the line 6 so that the portions 12 and 13 are brought into facial contact respectively with the portions 14 and 15, the ilap 20 being interposed between parts of the stated portions. As shown in Fig. 4, this presents the return address imprint 39 on blank portion 10 uppermost, and that portion is then covered by folding down the broad ap 23 and then folding the connected narrow ilap 24 about the edge of the portion 10, moistening and securing the adhesive29 to complete the closure of the envelope-sheet. The first or original sending address 35 then appears on one outside face of the package which is the outer face of the blank portion 23 as shown in Fig. 5, and all other subject matter is enclosed and concealed.

When delivered to the addressee, he observes the legend cut along the top or any equivalent direction appearing adjacent the imprinted opening line 26, and when the paper is cut at this line, the blank may be opened out to the position and condition of Fig. 1 except that the flap 24 remains attached to the outer face of blank portion 11.

After filling in the required data, including signature, if the recipient follows fully the instructions or suggestions contained in the indicia on the inner face of the main sheet, he refolds it in van obvious way to bring the return address 30 to an outer face of the completed package; that is, as shown in Fig. 6, he first refolds the sheet portions 16 and 17 in the same manner as previously, then folds the broad ap 23 (from which the narrow flap 24 has been detached as above) upon the sheet portions 13 and 15 as shown in Fig. '7, and then folds the entire blank along the central line 6 whereupon the original address 35 is enclosed and concealed at the center of the package; the resealing ap 20 is then folded over in an obvious way and secured after moistening its adhesive 28, producing the complete return package as shown in Fig. 8, in which the return address 30 is exposed on one outer face of the package, ready for mailing.

It will be noted that if the original addressee fails to place his signature or name in the space provided on the inner face of the blank, the original sender will nevertheless be able to identify the communication because the blank portion 23 bearing the original address remains attached and can be instantly referred to; so that the invention provides the desirable facility for postive identification of the communication even when the recipient fails to carry out instructions or suggestions and especially fails to aix his name or signature.

A further advantage is that after return to the original sender the blank may be folded so that the ap 23 lies against the outer face of themain sheet 1 which is then in rectangular form and may be conveniently filed along with other sheets of the same character or dimensions in any suitable le drawer or jacket for ready reference; and the name and addressof the customer, client "or the like remains attached, on the flap 23.

Other advantages of the structure from advertising or business standpoints will be understood by skilled persons without further explanation.

I claim:

l. A return letter form or the like, comprising a main sheet of rectangular outline having indicia on its inner face, and also having at one side a sealing ilap secured thereto and having a marginal edge co-incident with a marginal edge of the rectangular outline, and at the other side a second portion having a marginal edge coincident with a marginal edge of a rectangular outline, said second portion having an area ap`` proximately one-half the area of the rectangular outline, said second portion serving as an address flap, a sealing flap secured to said second portion, the sealing flaps having adhesive and the parts being arranged for folding the blank with the address ap in an outside exposed position or an inside concealed position.

2. A return letter form or the like, comprising a main sheet of rectangular outline having indicia on its inner face, and also having at one side a sealing flap secured thereto and having a marginal edge co-incident with a marginal edge of the rectangular outline, and at the other side a second portion having a marginal edge co-incident with a marginal edge of a rectangular outline, said second portion having an area approximately one-half the area of the rectangular outline, said second portion serving as an address flap, a sealing ap'secur'ed to said second portion, the sealing flaps having adhesive and the parts being arranged for folding the blank with the address iiap in an outside exposed position or an inside concealed position, the address flap being arranged to receive an original sending address on its outer face.

3. A return letter form or the like, comprising a main sheet of rectangular outline having indicia on its inner face, and also having at one side a sealing flap secured thereto and having a marginal edge co-incident with a marginal edge of the rectangular outline, and at the other side a second portion having a marginal edge co-incident with a. marginal edge of a rectangular outline, said second portion having an area approximately one-half the area of the rectangular outline, said second portion serving as an address ap, a sealing ap secured to said second portion, the sealing aps having adhesive and the parts being arranged for folding the blank with the address flap in an outside exposed position or an inside concealed position, the address ap being arranged to receive an original sending address on its outer face, and also having on its outer face an opening line adjacent its joinder to its sealing ilap.

4. A return letter form or the like, comprising" a main sheet of rectangular outline having indicia on its inner face, and also having at one side a sealing flap secured thereto and having a marginal edge co-incident with a marginal edge of the rectangular outline, and at the other side a second portion having a marginal edge co-incident with a marginal edge of a rectangular outline, said second portion having an area approximately one-half the area of the rectangular outline, said second portion serving as an address flap, a sealing ap secured to said second portion, the sealing ilaps having adhesive and the parts being arranged for folding the blank with the address flap in an outside exposed position or an inside concealed position, the blank having imprinted on a lengthwise central portion of its outer face an address to the original sender.

5. A return letter form or the like, comprising a main sheet of rectangular outline having indicia on its inner face, and also having at one side a sealing flap secured thereto and having a marginal edge co-incident with a marginal edge of the rectangular outline, and at the other side a second portion having a marginal edge coincident with a marginal edge of a rectangular outline, said second portion having an area approximately one-half the area of the rectangular outline, said second portion serving as an address flap, a sealing iiap secured to said second portion, the sealing aps having adhesive and the parts being arranged for folding the blank with the address iiap in an outside exposed position or an'inside concealed position, the blank having imprinted on a lengthwise central portion of its outer face an address to the original sender, the blank and indicia being so arranged that in one folded condition the address to original sender is outermost and in another condition the rst sending address is outermost.

6. A return letter form or the like, comprising a main sheet of rectangular outline having indicia on its inner face, and also having at one side a sealing flap secured thereto and having a marginal edge co-incident with a marginal edge of the rectangular outline, and at the other side a second portion having a marginal edge co-incident with a marginal edge of a rectangular outline, said second portiomhaving an area approximately one-half the area of the rectangular outline, said second portion serving as an address nap, a sealing flap secured to said second portion, the sealing flaps having adhesive and the parts being arranged for folding the blank with the address ap in an outside exposed position or an inside concealed position, the blank having imprinted on a'lengthwise central portion of its outer face an address to the original sender, the blank and indicia being so arranged that in one folded condition the address to original sender is outermost and in another condition the first sending address is outermost, the flap bearing the original sending address remaining attached to the blank when the original package is opened.
