Description

Patented May 39, 1934 UNITED STATES MANUFACTURE O F TRACING CLOTH Otto Huber, Freiburg (Breisgau), Germany, assignor to Richard Schwickert Aktiengcsellschaft, Freiburg (Brei ration of Germany sgau), Germany, a corpo- No Drawing. Application March 24, 1931, Serial No. 525,041. In Germany July 11, 1930 1 Claim.
The present invention relates to the manufac-- ture of tracing cloth. Originally a linen fabric was used as the foundation for the product, but subsequently and at the present time, long 5 fibered cotton, more particularly Egyptian cotton is used. Tracing cloth made with a cotton foundation is not homogeneous in transparency but isrcloudy, this being due only to lack of unifor the. manufacture of tracing cloth an absolutely homogeneous transparent article is produced without any cloudy unevenness. This effect is obtained with any kind of artificial silk, and does not depend upon the chemical composition of the thread or upon the method of manufacturing the artificial silk.
The artificial silk fabric may be impregnated in any well known manner, for example in that disclosed in the British Patent 251,038 or in the Papier-Zeitung, 52nd Year, page 3060, November 9, 1927.
Having now particularly described and ascertained the nature of my said invention and in what manner the same is to be performed, I declare that I claim is:
Tracing cloth comprising artificial silk fabric of uniform mesh impregnated to give a surface which may be used for tracing.
, OTTO HUBER.
