The chief object of this invention is to provide a receptacle suitable for use in a mechanical red frigerator to keep vegetables and the like in crisp condition, and this requires a cover construction.

. Another object of the invention is toprovide a tray suitable for the supportingv of ice cubes manufactured by such mechanical refrigerator lo andthe storage of said cubes in said tray.

Furthermore, such a tray\is arranged when positioned beneath the so-called freezing unit of the mechanical refrigerator to catch the drip- .pings therefrom and sheet ice that isremoved in' lll the defrosting of said freezing unit.

The invention claimed is:-

1. The combinationof a glass receptacle and a slidable unitary glass tray and cover therefor, said receptacle having upwardly and outwardly ared sides and an outwardly directed rim interrupted for ventilation, said cover having a base portion of an outline corresponding to the rim and as long as the receptacle and slightly 1,949,453 the ice cubes, when used as a storage tray for wider than the same, said cover having a handle portion, the tray-chamber being materially wider than the receptacle chamber, and means depending from the bottom of the tray as continuations of the Iside Wall only for straddling the rim of the receptacle at opposite sides, said rim being suitably relieved to permit restricted ventilation 'of the receptacle chamber, and said tray being slidably` removable longitudinally from the receptacle.

2. The combination of a glass receptacle and a slidable unitary glass tray and cover therefor,

said receptacle having upwardly and outwardly flared sides and an outwardly directed rim interrupted for ventilation and having an enlargement at one end serving as a handle portion, said cover having a base portion of an outline corresponding to the' rim and as long as the receptacle and slightly wider than the same, said cover having a handle portion'at the corresponding end, the tray chamber being materially wider than the receptacle chamber, and means depending from the bottom of the tray as continuations of the side wall only for straddling the rim of the receptacle at opposite sides, said rim being suitably relieved to permit restricted ventilation of the receptacle chamber, and said tray being slidably removable longitudinally from the receptacle.
