In the preferred embodiment of my invention illustrated in the accompanying drawings there is provided a cabinet which is divided into a storage compartment 1 and a display compartment 2. The cabinet is preferably formed of sheet metal forming the outer casmg 3 within-which cork 4 providing insulating material is positioned.

The forward portion of the display cabinet 2 is formed of transparent sections 5 and 6, each of which is constructed of a plurality of plates 7 of glass held apart to permit inspection of the meats disposed within the display section or compartment 2. Mounted within the display compartment 2 is a tray 8,

Doors 11 are provided for permitting access to the display compartment 2 when it is desired to place the foods on display. The doors 11 are, however, normall maintained in the compartment 2 are not those which are to be sold, but may be samples thereof. The foods to be sold are stored and maintained at a temperature low enough to either freeze orr maintain the foods frozen, and in the com-- partment 1 foods may be positioned in individual containers or cans 12, to which access "may be had through doors 13 positioned over o enings formed through the top plate 14 of t e Stora-0e compartment 1 of the display cabinet. lThe cans l2 are likewise preferably provided with covers 15.

Means are provided within the cabinet for maintaining the requisite temperature within the storage and sales compartment 1 and within the storage and display compartment 2, which meansare preferably as follows:

Formed within the compartment 1 is a brine container 16 which is substantially rectangular in end section and includes a side portion 17 which fits the back face of the compartment 1, the bottom section 18 which fits the bottom of. the compartment 1, a forward section 19 which tits the front of the compartment 1, and all of which sections are in direct communication throughout their length. The -forward section 19 terminates in a horizontal section 20, which extends throughout the length of the cabinet immediately below the tra-y 8. Projecting upwardly from the horizontal section 20, or the tray cooling section 20, is a forward rib section 21 and a rearward rib section 22, which likewise extend throughout the length of the cabinet and extend upwardly to provide a chamber withinwhich tbemtray 8 is fitted. The tray 8 may be, and preferably is, divided into a lurality of independent sections which are' tted within the chamber thus formed.

The brine is introduced into the rear-sec- 5 tion through a conduit23 from any suitable or desirable cooling medium, the use of which is Well understood in the art, and at a point near the top of the rear section 17. lThe cool brine then circulates down through the rear and up through the front section' 19 and into the horizontal or tray section 20 and passes from the tray section 2O up through the rearward rib 22 and passes back to the cooling medium through the recirculation conduit 24 which is preferably connected at the top of the rear rib 22.

It is preferable that the cabinet' embodying my invention be divided into a plurality rality of ksections each of which includes an inventionis of the full scope of the appended claims. l i, I claim:

1: A device of the class described comprising a refrigerated cabinet divided into a storage and sales compartment and a display compartment, including a partition Within thecabfinet dividing the same into thesaid compartment, and closure means Within the storage and sales compartment mounted to open in the storage Aand sales compartment to gain access to the display compartment.

2. In a device of the class described, the combinaion of a cabinet, a partition within the cabinet for dividing the cabinet into a storage and sales compartment and a display compartment located at the front top portion ofthe cabinet, and doors in the partition and opening within the storage and sales compartment to allow access to the display compartment from the storage and sales compartment only.
