What I claim is:-
1. A roller straightening machine including gearing for driving the straightening rollers, a stationary driving box carrying the whole of the driving gearing, a stationary outer housing, and an inner housing slidably mounted between the driving box and the outer housing.
2. A machine as claimed in claim 1, including straightening rollers, shafts supporting said rollers and supported partly in the outer stationary housing and partly in the slidable housing and adapted, when the latter is displaced, to move therewith and to disengage the outer stationary housing.
3., A machine as claimed in claim 1, including rollers, shafts supporting said rollers and rotatably supported. partly in the slidable housing and partly in the stationary housing, drive shafts slidably guidedin the driving box and rigidly connected with the roller supporting shafts to prevent tilting of the slidable housing when the latter is moved away from the stationary outer hous- 4. 5. A machine as claimed in claim 1, including an actuating device for the slidable housing including a screw connected with said slidable-housing and passing through the box.

A roller straightening machine including gearing-for driving thestraightening rollers, a stationary'driving box carrying the whole of the driving gearing, an inner housing slidably mounted between the driving box and the outer housing,- a shaft journaled in the outer and inner hous ings, a driving connection between the'driving gear and said shaft, and means connecting said-v shaft and drivingmember with theinner housing 12;
whereby, when thelatter is displaced, said shaft andmember move therewith.
