Oct. 3, 1933 J. BELLOCCHIO PAPER ROLL SUPPORTER Filed 001;. 28, 1932 INV TOR ATTORNEY ean Oct. '3, 1933 "PA PER non.
st r o ms v v .i 'jolyjn nellocchimNewzYork, KY. 7 v U Amatideni r, 28 1932,. Serial No. 6331,94; 519 clai s. "(01. 242-68) I r This invention-relates to paper: roll supporters.
One object of this inventionis Ito provide a" device of the-character-described havingimproved meansforsupporting a' plurality of ar-. ticles such as- -paper rolls, insuch a manner as'to permit easy mounting and removal "thereof one 7 position certain of the paper rolls being removed.
Fig. 3'is a different view-of the device in ele-' vation without the paperrolls; shown in Fig. 2. s Figs. 4 and 5 are horizontal cross sectional views taken on lines H and 5-5 respctively of Fig. 2.
Fig. 6 is a fragmentary-view inwelevation oi .a modification of the invention.- T

' 'The advantages -ofthe inventionfas here out lined are best realiaed' when all 01? its features and instrumentalities are combinedj lnone and the same structure, but, useful devices may be produced embodying less than the .whole.-
-2:; It will be obvious tolthose skilledkin'thejart to which this invention Vappertains, that the samemay be incorporated 'inseveral difierent-constructions; The accompanyingfirawing, therefore, is submitted merelyjas; showing the pre ferred exemplificationof :the invention. V Referring in detail to the drawing, 10 denotes a devicesuch as a paper roll supporter embodying V the invention; The paper roll =11 .or similar article may consist of a rolltof tissue paper or vthe like [whichis usually wound upon a cardboard tube ,12, and; is to be considered as any conventional type.q The-device 10 may include a means such'as 13 adapted,to;extend;through the cen tral openings aiforded by" the sleeves 12" of. a plurality of paper, rollsf ll. =Said means may havegaplurality of movable spaced elements 14 for individually supporting the successive paper rolls, and .themeans '13 may have openings into which said elements are movable, so that-the paper rolls are; removable .withoutany obstruc tion. Thus the means 13 may consist of a-plurality of elongated members or bars .15, 16 which are secured together attheir ends-in any suitable manner,ias byspacers :17, and screws 18 threaded paper rolls. the lowermost thereof is grasped and 'pulled downward, the frictional engagement being thus into sleeves ld fixed in one of the membersas shown in Fig. 4, in a connection hereinafter described. A supporting means orhook. 19, may
be-attached to, the upper part 17forcarrying the device. Between the parts 17. the members] and '16 are spacedas shown.
' The elements 14 may be in the nature of arms,
which may I have hubs 20, provided with stub shafts 21 journaled in alined bearing recesses 22. .of ithe members 15 and 16.; Each arm and its stub shafts may be of one piece construction, and in :thisfmanner, the arms are mounted between the members 15, 16 so as to be movable into the space 23 therebetween. Eacharm 14 is thus mov able into a-position toproiect laterally from the means -13;.and into adiiierent position to lie closely alongside thereof. In order, to hold" the arms in the projected position for supporting the paper rolls, any releasablepr yielding engage-g mentmay be provided; Preferably,,I utilizea" frictionalengagement of the- members 15,16 against the hubs 2,0:Of'the arms? For this pur-v pose,- I may provide --a plurality of supplemental connections between. said ,members in suitable relation to the arms;- passed through said members for adjustably holding the same together, aswith the aid of nuts or sleeves, 18a. 1 These screws 24 may be in relasuflicient -tive proximity tothe hubs to assure a frictional engagement thereon, s I
, '-1 Upon downward movement of the arms the space'23, thearms may engage stops 25 forlimiting-movementof thearmsin said space.- In order to facilitate removal of the arms from said space, recesses 26 may be provided in corresponding positionsin edgesof the- members 14,, 15 a finger'holdxon; the element li. I
Thearms 1 4 and the members 15, 16 may each or any of them consist of wood or metal, resilient or otherwise, and sheet materialmay also be employed. *Preferably,-the means 13 is of such size andL-shape in cross section asto suitably fl ll and guidethe paper rolls. r v
The manner "of using the device willfnow -be described. J' A paperroll is received on the means Thus screws 24 maybe 13 and moved upward from the lower to the up er end thereof, and an arml i adjacent to ,the lower endofithe paper; roll moved outward to support the same; This operation isrepeatedfor eachyot the successive lower, rolls until the device is fully loaded. Each arm is frictionally engaged between members-15, '16 so .vasto support theindividual To remove oneof the paperv rolls,
be removed without I manipulation of thearms 14 is btained, the? elremoval of the'paper members 15a and 16a receiving arms 14. A stub shaft'or trunnion 21a of the latter may extend through member 15a, and be providedon its end with a finger pielie-26a',1which,'in 'ordertoavoid, obstruction of a paper roll, may be located in a recess 26b of the member 15a." In this case, re,-,
cesses, 26 are unnecessary, and convenient same being otherwise operative as hereinbefore described;
modifications maybe made in the device as shown in the drawing, and that the same is submitted in an illustrative and not in a limiting sense, the scope of the invention name-claims.
liciaimr' lfApaper roll supporter having means includ- 'a plurality of yielding elongated members disposedin spaced side by side relation to forma core upon which the paper rollscan be reserved, and a plurality of arms pivotally fricnonalrysecared to said means at points spaced tneref'afcrlg for individually supporting the paper 7 rolls,- adjnstabie'means urging themembers to were each other for gr'ippingsaid' arms; said afmsbeing movable into the space betweensaid" for removal "or the paper rolls tram said 2.
