Description
w. COLLINS. SAW-GUIDE.
NO. 192,683, Patnted July 3,1877.
' lllilllh WITNESSES: INVENTOB ATTUBNEYS.
UNITED STATES PATENT QFFICE.
WILLIAM COLLIN S, OF PERHAM, MINNESOTA.
IMPROVEMENT IN SAW-GUIDES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent Nol92,683, dated July 3, 1 77 application filed March 24, 1877.
1'0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM OoLLINs, of Perham, in the county of Otter Tail and State of Minnesota, have invented an Improvement in Saw-Guide, of which thefollowing is a specification In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 is a side elevation of my improved saw-guide, and Fig. 2 is a plan view of the same.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
The invention will first be described in connection with the drawing, and then pointed out in the claim.
In the drawing, A is a casting, having slots at a, through which bolts pass for attaching it to the frame of the mill, and having a mortise for receivingthe bar b, which is clamped in the mortise by the screw 0. B is a forked lever, that is pivoted to the bar I), and the long end of which is moved by the adjusting-screw d that is journaled in the casting A, and is capable of moving the lever B in either direction and retaining it in any desired position. Bosses are formed inside of the ends of the forks of the lever B, and the forks are bored centrally through these bosses, and tapped to receive wooden plugs, that bear against the saw.
screw and a nut, and I therefore desire to dis-- claim this as constituting any part of my invention.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- A saw-guide extended to the end of its frame, and provided with a screw at the long end of lever, as shown and described, whereby the sawyer need not let go his feed-lever, and may adjust with more facility.-
