fy mum/W Patented Sept. 12, 1933 UNITED STATES COMBINED ,CABINET AND TABLE James M. Nahon, Madrid, Spain Application December 9, 1929, Serial No. 412,85 4, and in Spain June 27, 1929 12 Claims. (01. 45-31) The invention relates to a combinedpiece of furniture consisting of a cabinet'case provided with an extension table, the body of the cabinet case being fitted with swinging means to allow of its being turned, and, the inside of the cabinet being subdivided into compartments for the purpose of containing objects of different kinds. The extensible table has the peculiar feature that its upper surface can be folded up into one or more additional planes.
This improved piece of furniture differs from others of similar design in that it has the aforementionedswinging means which allow of using at the same front part the various sections or compartments which it is subdivided in. At the same time the folding arrangement (which can also affect the form of a slide-way) permits, on the one hand, multiplying the surface and uses of the upperplane part of the table, and on the other-hand, in view of the possibility of extending one or more of the table folders todraw the said piece of furniture towards a bed, an arm chair, or couch so as to render it handy and practical for reading, writing, for-having a 25. light meal or for other. similar useful purposes. The accompanying drawings show, by way of example, the combined cabinet-case and extensible table constructed according to this invention. 1 v
Fig.1 shows a table of round or circular form the mainbody or element 910 whereof rotates round an inner axle which in turn serves as connection means between the fixed or'station ary parts or members of the table, that is the 35. upper part 11-12 and 1314 which acts as a base. The said rotary body is divided into three vertical compartments, as shown in Figure 2 which are designed in the present case to be used respectively for the telephone set, arm rack and 40V for containing bottles with liquids. The base or lower fixed part of the cabinet is provided with a door K and serves to keep therein any object of convenient or handy use, and as regards the unfoldable cover arrangement shown 45. at L-M, Figure 3 represents a detailed example "of its construction wherein can be appreciated the feature of a jointed arm N which, allows of the supplementary lid or cover being placed in various positions more or less close to the main or central body of the furniture.
" Fig. 4 is a front view of the cabinet showing the compartment for the telephone apparatus open. Upon the upper platform is shown a lamp, as an ornament of the ensemble and as an example of the many additional and useful and net.
handy accommodations 'to which the cabinet can be applied.

Thus, the cabinet could be provided with one or more extensible boards fitted to anypart of same. Again, the body part of the cabinet can be made into two or more rotary partsso arranged that they may turn in any direction, and, furthermore, the wholeof the cabinet can be so adapted that the rotating parts thereof be covered by means of some additional device or housed into a suitable casing having two or more openings for access to the turning compartments of the cabi- Having now fully described and ascertained the nature of my invention and the manner in which it can be carried out, I hereby claim the following.
