- The present invention Consists .of a special construction and combinationjof parts for, the purpose stated, and the formation preferred and the arrangement. thereof are illustrated in the accompanying drawings; Fig. 1' represents a cross section of the frameland vanes fashioned in accordance with this invention and sets forth the parts'assembled and in closed position. Inassembling the parts, take the movement- ,plate 3, the key shaft 6, the link plates 7 and 7a, and the slide "9 and put'them in place. .The cylinder washers 1.1 and 36 are also prop- I e'rly placed, and all the'vanes or 'louvers arranged to .standup on the pins. Next take the top plate 4 and enter the pins in the holes of the .louvers. Now, the workman can lift :the whole assembly and set it in theframe, and the springs will hold itfin place. The ends .of the re-enforcing 'barslO ,are' next. riveted in the frame as shown, and the register is'complete. If thelkey shaft be suitably'turned, the threaded blockthereon will move into the position .of

The endwise movement of the, shaft is thus prevented, and in the closin ,5m0vement its contrary displacement is prevented by the shoulder '6' against the inside of the flange at the front of the movement plate 3.
