The battery may be operated by pressing the flexible cover 18 at the top of the spacer 4 immediately over the end of `the leaf spring switch 16 at the point indicated vby the arrow. This point may be visually indicated by suitable lettering and it may be detected by the touch, by forming a rise or a depression at thisv point. The switch is actuated to formv a contact between the outer terminal 15 of the electric light bulb and the negative terminal 17 ofthe battery to complete the battery circuit and the light is projected through the aperture provide in the top cover of the battery.
I claim:
.1. A battery hand lamp comprising a dry battery formed of a pair of dry cells having their unlike electrode terminals disposed at theopposite ends of said battery; a short spacer separating said cells and providinga space at one end of said batteries betweensaid cells; an electric light bulb in said space and having one'of its terminals electrically connected to-one .terminal of said battery; a switch electrically connected to the other terminal ofsaid battery and adapted to be actuated to form alcontact with the other terminal of said bulb; anday casing enclosing all of said elements, said casing comprising a flexible side adapted to bepressed-to actuate said switch.
2. A battery handlamp comprising adry battery formed of a pair ,of parallel dry cells having their unlike electrode terminals kdisposed at opposite ends of said battery; an electrical connection between the unlike terminals at one end of saidv battery; a short spacer separating said cells and providing a recess between lsaid cells at theother end of said battery; a z shaped electrical conductor havingone end connectedto one terminal of said battery'and the other endterminating in said recess; an, electric light bulbv positioned in said recess and having one of ,its terminals' in contact with said Z conductor; an insulating strip extending along the bottom and side walls of said recess and interposed between said conductor and the exterior walls of said cell; a switch connected to the other terminal of said battery and adapted to form a contact with the other terminal of said bulb; and a exible casing for the battery sides and an end cover having an aperture therein against the inner edge of which the outer end of said bulb abuts.
3. A battery hand lamp comprising a dry battery formed of a pair of parallel dry cells having their unlike electrode terminals disposed at opposite ends of said battery; an electrical connection between the unlike terminals at one end -of said battery; a short spacer separating said cells and providing a recess between said cells at the other end of said battery; a Z shaped electrical conductor having one end connected to one terminal of said battery and the other end terminating in said recess; an electric light bulb positioned in said recess and having one of its terminals in contact with said Z conductor; a switch connected to the other terminal of said battery and adapted to form a contact with the other terminal of said bulb; and a flexible casing for the battery sides and an end cover having an aperture therein against the inner edge of which the outer end of said bulb abut's.
4. A battery hand lamp comprising a dry battery; an electric light bulb adapted to be placed in circuit with said battery; a switch for completing said circuit, and a non-removable casing enclosing all of said elements comprising a stiff top end cover having a hole therein, one edge ofwhich ts against said bulb, a' bottom end cover, and a flexible side cover wrapped around said battery and secured to said end covers, said side cover being adapted to be flexed to actuate said switch.

A battery hand lamp comprising a battery of dry cells; anl electric light bulb having one of its terminals connected to one of the battery terminals; a switch connected to the other battery terminal; a casing having end icoversI and a flexible side.`cover wrapped around said battery and secured to said end covers, and said side cover being adapted to be pressed to vmove said switch in contact'with the other terminal of said bulb. l 6. A battery hand lamp comprising a battery of dry cells having their/axles parallel to each other; a spacer separating said cells; an electric light bulb supported ony said spacer and protected by the ends of said cells; a conductor connected to one terminal of said battery and to one terminal of said bulb; a switch connected to the other terminal of l said battery; :a casing enclosing all of said elements,v said .casing having a flexible side cover wrapped around said battery and adapted to be pressed to actuate said switch.
