What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. A door latch comprising a case plate, a tensioned latch bolt movable in the plane of said case plate, a roll back for retracting said latch bolt, inside means for retracting said bolt including a longitudinally movable plate having lost motion in non-bolt retracting direction when said bolt is in projected or latching position, and means for clogging said roll back by the lost motion of said plate, said means comprising a plate directly abutting said roll back on one side and said bolt on the opposite side whereby said bolt is retracted by said roll back through said plate,
means to guide movement of said plate over said case plate, and a bent level` movable by said lost motion into position to block movement of said plate.
2. In a door latch having a case plate, a spring-tensioned latch bolt movable in a direction parallel to the plane of said case plate, and inside and outside means for retracting said latch bolt, said inside means having lost motion in nonbolt retracting direction when said latch bolt is in latching position, a plate slidable over said case plate and disposed between said outside means and bolt, said plate being movable by said outside means, and a pivoted lever arranged to be moved in one direction by said lost motion into abutting relation to the opposite end of said slidable plate, thereby to dog said roll back.
3. In a door latch, a case plate, a spring-tensioned latch bolt movable in a direction parallel to the plane of said case plate, an outside operated roll back for retracting said bolt, inside operated means for retracting said bolt including a longitudinally movable link disposed substantially in alignment with said bolt and having lost motion relatively thereto when said latch bolt is in latching position, a plate slidable over said case plate and having av portion thereof disposed between said outside retracting means and bolt and movable by said outside means, and pivotally mounted means associated with said link and movable in one direction by said lost motion into abutting relation to said slidable plate, thereby to dog said roll back.
