v.It is. thought that from the foregoing the construction, operation and advantages of my .device will be clearly understood, but I reserve 'thegright to effect such modifications thereof as may come fairly within the spirit of the invention. 'iWhat I claim is:-
-1.The combination in a device of the kind described, of a pair of normally diverging spring arms, a flexible connection between-the arms, a
"net attached'to the arms and connection, a
shield for holding the above-mentioned parts collapsed against the tension of the armsand a projection on; one of said arms engageable With a seat of said shield to latch the parts in collapsed position, said shield, upon release of said latch, being longitudinally movable to release .the arms and thereby spread the net.
2. The combination in a device of the kind described, of a pair'of diverging spring arms, a
flexible connection between the arms, a net atnection between the same, a net attached to the frame, a core into which the arms are fastened and provided with an extension, a stop on said extension, and a shiftable covering for the net frame and a portion of the extension, movement of the covering against the stop releasing the net frame so that the armsthereofwill autoniatically spread apart and thus spread the net.
4. The combination in a device of the kind describedof a staff, a pair of normally diverging spring armsattached to and extending .beyond said staff, a netattached to said arms, a sheath adapted to confine saidarms incollapsed condition against their spring tension, said sheath being shiftable along the staff to release the arms progressively from their diverging :to their attached ends.
5. The combination in a device or the kind described ofa staff, a pair of normally diverging spring arms attached to said staff, a net attached to said arms, a locking projection on-one of said armaa sheath adapted to confine said arms in collapsed condition against theirspring tension and shiftable alongthe staff to release the arms, means on said sheath coacting with the locking projecting when said sheath is in confining position to lock the arms and sheath against relative rotary movement, and means on said sheath coacting with the arms when said sheath is in released position to lock the arms and sheath against relative rotary movement.
6.'The combination in a device of the kind described of a staff, a-pair of normally diverg ing spring arms attached-to; and extending" be yond said-stafha net attached to said arms, a sheath provided with recesses and adapted to confine said arms in collapsed condition against their spring tension, a projection on one of said arms engageable with a recess of the shield to latch the parts in collapsed condition, said sheath being shiftable along the staff to release the arms and to engage them with'recesses of said sheathto prevent relative rotation of the arms and sheath,
