This invention relates to a container for safety razor blades and has for its primary object to provide a neat and attractive coi artmental receptacle for dispensing new 55 lades and'for receiving old blades.

A further object of the invention consists in the provision of such a container or receptacle which may be readily supported on t e wall of a bathroom or the like, in an out-ofthe-way or inconspicuous position.

Another object of the invention resides in the provision of an absorbent liner for the used-blade compartment which may be readily removed and discarded as a unit with the 35 blades therein.

A still further object of the invention consists in the rovision of a container havin a removableliack plate to permit the remova of the used blades.

Re erring to the drawing in more detail the numeral 1 indicates the container proper, which is provided with top, bottom and side walls, 2, 3 and 4, respectively, a front wall 5 and an open rear or ack 6.

The container is divi ed into an upper compartment for used blades as well as a lower compartment, by means of ahorizontal partition 11. The upper compartment for used blades is preferably ,provided with a liner formed of absorbent material, such as blotting paper or the like, so as to absorb any moisture remaining on blades deposited in the compartment. Such a liner is shown in Figure 4 and is indicated by the numeral 12. This liner is in the form of a folded blank box, which is completely closed and snugly fits within the upper compartment of the container.

As heretofore mentioned the back of the container is entirely .open, as indicated by numeral 6 (Figs. 2 and 3). This 0 ning is normally closed by a plate 16, whic has its upper end inserted into and extends upwardly through vertical slots 18 formed at the rear of the side walls 4. The upper wall of a. slot 19 formed in the top 2 limits the upper movement of this plate. A vacuum cu 'or the like 20 is secured to the plate 16 y a rivet 21 or other preferred fastening means, and serves as a support for securing the device on a wall of a bathroom or at any other convenient location.

In Figure 6 is shown a back plate 22 provided with keyhole slots 23, which may be used in lieu of the vacuum cup for supporting the device on a wall or the like.

In the operation of the device it is secured to the wall or other support as indicated in- Figs. 2 and 3. When a blade is desired the operator merely inserts his finger in the slot 10 and forces the lowermost blade out through the slot 8. New blades may be inserted in the lower compartment from time to time by inserting the same through the slot 15 and used blades may be stored in the upper compartment by inserting the same through the

13 and 14 of the side wall and liner, respectively. When the used-blade compartment is filled, or if it is desired to empty the same for any other reason, the container may be removed from its support by merely raising the same and thus separating it from the back plate 16. When so removed the used-blade compartment becomes accessible and it is merely necessary to withdraw the folded blank box or liner 12 and deposit the same in a waste basket or the like; after which a new liner may be inserted and the container replaced upon the back wall 16.

In the foregoing description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing it will be apparent that I have devised a very simple and inexpensive construction of razor blade container; that it is neat and attractive in appearance; that it may be readily supported upon a wall or other convenient base;

- that it provides storage for both old and new 3. In a device of the class described, a conblades; that the new blades may be dispensed singly from time to time as desired; that means is provided for removing the moisture from deposited used blades; and that the used blades may be discarded by simply withdrawing the liner from the container and depositing it in a waste receptacle.

In accordance with the patent statutes I have described what I now believe is the preferred form of construction, but inasmuch as various minor changes may be made in certain of the details without departing from the spirit of the invention,it is intended that all such changesbe included within the scope of the appended claims.

What I claim is:

1. In a device of the class described, a container rovided with an entrance slot for razor b ades in one side thereof, a removable rear side, and a set-up liner fitting the mte- -rior of the container and provided with a slit registering with the slot of the C011t8i3213 with a slit having contacting walls and registering with the slot of the container.
