IMPROVEMENT IN PORTABLE FENCES.
specification forming part of Letters Patent No. [91,1 13, dated May 22, 1877; application filed- March 24, 1877.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ABSALOM S. OHANEY. of Flora, in the county of Clay and State of Illinois, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in Portable Fences; and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description, of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon.:-
Figure l of the drawings is a representation of an end view of my portable fence, and Fig. 2 is a central vertical sectional view thereof. Fig. 3 is a side elevation of the same.
This invention relates to portable fences; and consists in the construction and arrangement hereinafter fully set forth.
In the accompanying drawings, A designates two inclined supports or posts, which, taken together, are shaped like an iiwerted V, and loosely connected at their upper converging ends by a link, a. The weight of the said riders and upper supports causes said inner faces a a to clamp tightly upon said flat rails B I3. This fence is especially designed for use in confining large stock. What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The combination of the inverted V-shaped lower supports A with'X-shaped upper supports 0, linked thereto, rails B, and riders I), substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
