When it is desired to clean the manometer tube 1, or, in the event of damage to the tube, it is desired to replace it with another tube it is not necessary to disconnect the mounting as a unit from the fluid system in which the manometer is a part. By my invention I have provided a separable mounting which permits the cleaning or replacement of a tube by simply removing the nut 20 and drawing the separable section 2 downwardly from the head 14 without disconnecting the conduits 17 from the head. In this manner considerable time mav be saved in cleaning or repairing a measuring instrument provided with a mounting constructed in accordance with my invention.
Various changes may be made in the details of construction and arrangement of parts without departing from the spirit of my invention or the scope of the appended claims.
I claim: 7
1. In a manometer, a manometer tube, a mounting for the tube including a head having means adapted for connection with a fluid pressure line, and a housing for the tube separably connected with the head and having openings through which the ends of the tube protrude, said openings a'fl'ording communication through the head for the tube ends with the fluid pressure line.
2. In a manometer, a manometer tube, a mounting for the tube including a head having means adapted for connection with a fluid line, a housing for the tube separably connected with the head and having openings through which the ends of the tube protrude, said openings affording communication through the head for the tube ends with the fluid line, and means for guiding said head and said protruding tube ends into fluid transmitting relation when the head and housing are moved into position to be secured together.
3. A mounting for manometers including a head, a manometer tube support separablv secured to the head, said head having openings therethrough for connection at one "of their ends with a fluid line and at their other respective ends with a manometer tube, a manometer tube carried by the support, packing means between the head and the support, a pin carried by the support and extending through the head, and means cooperating with the pin to separably secure the head and support together.
