The invention relates to a reflector attachment for electric lamps, and more especially to an anti-glare device.

The primaryobject of the invention is the provision of a device of this character, wherein the construction thereof permits the application within a lamp house so as to confront an electric light bulb when placed therein so that the light from such bulb will becontrolled in a manner to eliminate glare on the projecting of the light from the lamp house, the device being adaptable for headlamps, spotlamps or other lamps adapted for use on automobiles.

Another object of the invention is the provision of a device of this character wherein the application thereof to the lamp avoids any necessity of altering the make-up of the lamp or disturbing any of its assembled parts excepting the removal of its front glass, the device being applied to the frontglass and is susceptible of convenient adjustment to locate the same properly with relation to the electric lamp for the use of the device as an anti-glare medium.

A further object of the invention is the provision of a device of this character wherein the light projected from the electric bulb will be intercepted or screened in a manner to disrupt the stream and thus subdue the said stream and being in effect a shaded light, thereby avoiding the blinding effect of the headlights upon pedestrians or other persons approaching along a roadway and at the same time assuring maximum driving vision by illumination ahead.

A still further object of the invention is the provision of a device of this character which is simple in construction, thoroughly reliable and efiicient in its purposes, possessing but few parts, thus rendering it easy of assembly and also readily applicable for mounting within a lamp, free for adjustment, strong, durable, and inexpensive, to manufacture.

Vith these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described in detail, illustrated in the accompanying drawing, which discloses the. preferred erhbodiment of. the invention, and pointed out,-

The anti-glare device to be employed with the lamp A comprises a concavo-convex circular base .7 in the form of a vacuum cup having a central stud 8 at its convex side and this stud has swiveled or countersunk therein the head 9 of a threaded bolt 10 for the mounting of a'scoop-like reflector 11 and the coupling of the latter with the base.

The reflector 11 is preferably of the shape as shown in Figures 1, 2 and 3 of the drawing and in the apex portion 12 thereof is an internally threaded socketed head 13 which is integral with the reflecto-r'll and this head receives the threaded'boltlO for the coupling of the reflector and vacuum cup 7 together. The reflector has an extended portion 14 and such reflector is adapted to confront the bulb 6 Within the lamp A to intercept the stream of light onillumination of said bulb.
