This invention relates to hinge structures. The general object of the invention is to provide a hinge structure including one plate adapted to be secured to a door frame or other object and another plate adapted to be secured to a door and wherein novel means is provided for limiting the angular movement of the hinge members relative to each other.
A further object of the invention is to provide a hinge structure having means for limiting the angular movement of the hingemembers relative to each other wherein novel means is provided for adjusting the limiting movement.
Other objects of the invention'will be apparent from the following description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, wherein:

Fig. 2 is a top plan view of adoor frame and door showing my hinge applied thereto.
Fig. 3 is a plan of the adjustable stop member.
Fig. 4 is a view similar to Fig. 3 showing the locking member.

Fig. 6 is a section taken on line (i6, Fig. 1, showing the hinge adjusted for opening to one position and,
Fig. 7 is section similar to Fig. 6 showing the hinge adjusted for opening to another position.
Fig. 8 is a view similar to Fig. 1 showing the leaf members separated.
Referring to the drawing by reference characters, I have shown the hinge as comprising apair of leaves or plates 10 and 11.. The hinge may be of a type adapted for supporting doors, casement windows or for any purpose wherein it is desired to limit the swinging movement of a closure member.
Referring again to the drawing, the plat- es 10 and 11 are shown as provided with apertures 12 through which fastening screws may be inserted. One of the plates may be secured to a door frame 13 while the other 3 showing plate may be secured to a door 14 as shown in Fig. 2.
' The plates 10 and 11 are provided with inter-fitting knuckles or pintle receiving members 15 and 1.5 to receive a pintle pin 15 to hingcdly connect the members. The plate 10 is provided with a notch 16 which passes through the central knuckle. This notch 16 is widened at 16.
A locking member is indicated at 17. This locking member is provided with a central aperture 18 to receive the pintle pin and with a notch 19 which receives the plate 11 as indicated in Fig. l. The locking member fits in the notch 16 and is provided with apertures 20, the purpose of which will be presently described.
An adjustable stop member 21 is indicated in Fig. 3. This stop member has a central aperture 22 to receive the pintle pin and is provided with shoulders 23 and 28 and with an aperture 24. The aperture 24 is arranged nearer to the shoulder 23 than to the shoulder 23% The slot 19 on the member 17 is also arranged at one side of the center of the aperture 18.
A locking pin is illustrated in Fig. 5. This pin includes a head 24' which is adapted to fit in the aperture 24 and a shank 25 which is adapted to selectively enter any of the apertures 20.
The hinge is assembled as shown in Fig. 1 with a locking member 17 arranged as shown and with the adjustable stop member disposed above the locking member. This adjustable stop member is turned at the desired angle depending upon the width at which the door is to open and the locking pin is then inserted with the shank 25 thereof disposed in the proper aperture 20. Either before or after this is done the pintle pin 15 is secured in place and the arrangement is such that the door or closure member may only open to a certain degree after which the shoulder 23 will strike the adjacent face of the plate 10 as indicated at 26 in Fig. 6 or at 27 in Fig. 7 and thus a restricted movement of the door is provided.
This restricted movement is desirable to prevent the door from striking against a baseboard or against another door or other member and the use of my invention eliminates stop members either on the floor or on the wall which project from the surfaces on which they are secured and are inconvenient and even at times dangerous. IVith my invention these stop members are completely eliminated and their unsightly appearance avoided while with my hinge there is no likelihood of getting out of order or breakage so that a maximum of utility is secured.
Due to the fact that the hole 24 in the adjustable stop member 21 is nearer the shoulder 23 than the shoulder 23* I can turn over this member 21 to secure double the number of adjustments.
From the foregoing description it will be apparent that I have invented a novel form of angle limited hinge which can be economically manufactured.
Having thus described my invention, I claim:
1. In a hinge construction, a pair of plates having interfitting knuckles, a pintle pin passing through said knuckles, a locking member having means to prevent rotation between said locking member and said one hinge plate and a stop member including a shoulder adapted to engage the other plate and means to restrain said stop member to move with said locking member, said means being removable.
2. I11 a hinge construction, apair of plate members having alternate knuckles, a pintle pin. passing through said knuckles, a locking member mounted on said pintle pin and having means engaging one of said plates to prevent rotation between said locking member and said one plate and an adjustable stop member mounted on said pintle pin, said stop member including a shoulder adapted to engage the other plate and means to constrain said adjustable stop member to move with said locking member.
3. In a hinge construction, a pair of plates having alternate interfitting knuckles, a pintle pin passing through said knuckles, a locking member mounted on said pintle pin and having means engaging one of said plates to prevent rotation between said locking mem her and said one hinge plate and an adjust-- able stop member mounted on said pintle pin, said stop member including a shoulder adapted to engage the other plate and means to restrain said adjustable stop member to move with said locking member, said means comprising a removable pin, there eing aligning apertures in said locking member and in said stop member to receive said pin.
4. In a hinge, two plates having alternately spaced interfitting knuckles, a pintle pin passing through said knuckles, one of said plates having a notch therein, a locking member having an aperture to receive said pintle pin, said locking member having a notch adapted to receive said other plate member, with a portion of said member fitted in and movable through said notch, said locking member having a plurality of apertures therein, an adjustable stop member having an aperture adapted to receive said pintle pin and having a shoulder thereon, said stop member being mounted on said pintle pin in face to face relation with said locking member, said stop member having another apcrture therein, said other aperture of said stop member being adapted to be brought into alignment with one of said locking member apertures and to receive a pin therein to secure said members against relative movement.
5. In a hinge, two plates having alternately spaced inter-fitting knuckles, a pintle pin passing through said knuckles, one of said plates having a notch therein, a locking member having an aperture to receive said pintlc pin, said locking member having a notch adapted to receive said other plate member, with a portion of said plate fitted in and movable through said notch, said locking member having a plurality of apertures therein, an adjustable stop member having an aperture adapted to receive said pintle pin and having a pair of shoulders thereon,
said stop member being mounted on said pintle pin in face to face relation with said locking member, said stop member having another aperture therein, said other aperture of said stop member being adapted to be brought into alignment with one of said locking mcmber apertures and to receive a pin therein to secure said members against relative movement, said adjustable stop member aperture being nearer to one shoulder than to the other shoulder and being reversible whereby a multiplicity of adjustment may be effected.
