This application is a division of my applifor safety razors. p
An obiect of my invention is to provide, a
cation filed Nov. 26, 1928, Serial K03215592 v v thefingers 11a.
clip or retainer for a stack ef'blades The clip with the -blades therein-may be inserted in a magazine of a safety razor to retain the blades :therein with their cuttingedges out of contact with the magazine and in position to be pushed into the blade holderof a razor. Myfinvention comprises novel details of improvement that will be more fully hereinafter set forth andthen pointed out in the claims.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings forming a part hereof, wherein Fig. 1 is a perspective view of my improved blade clip;
Fig. 2 is a perspective view illustrating a stack of blades in the clip, and
Fig. 3 is a cross section on line 3, 3, in Fig.
My improved clip for retaining a stack of blades 4 is indicated at 11. The clip may be made of metal, having spaced sides 11a, transverse connecting members 116, and inwardly bent or extending fingers 110. The connecting members 116 may be curved or extended inwardly to receive curved blades 4. When the stack of blades is slid into the clip 11 the inner blade will rest against the membars 11?) and the outer blade will be engaged by the fingers 110, the clip parts including the fingers preferably being resilient to flexibly grip the blades, and retain their cutting edges out of contact with the sides of the clip, (Fig 3).
The clip with blades therein is adapted to be inserted in a magazine of a safety razor, such as set forth in my aforesaid application, and the sides of the clip may fit snugly against the side walls of the magazine. The pairs of fingers 110 are spaced apart. An ejector of the razor may be pushed to slide one of the blades from the stack in the clip into the blade holder of the razor, and the fingers 110 of the clip will guide the blade so that its cutting edges will not engage the clip within the magazine while the blade is being ejected therefrom. A spring within the razor magazine may push against the stack-of blades to keep them-pressed toward My improved clip will be found ofad'vam tags in the class ofrazors having double edged blades, since neither of such "edges should slide against metal to guide the blade to shaving position for fear of dulling the cutting edg My improvement is not limited to the details of construction set forth, as the same may be varied, within the scope of the appended claims, without departing from the spirit of my invention.
Having now described my invention what I claim is: p
1. A clip for a stack of'double-edged razor blades having spaced sides to receive the blades therebetween with their edges opposing and spaced from said sides, connecting means between said sides, and fingers on said sides extending inwardly toward one another, said connecting means being provided with means to engage a blade to keep the blade edges out of contact with said sides.
2. A clip as set forth in claim 1 in which the connecting means extends inwardly to cooperate with transversely curved blades to keep them from movement toward said sides.
3. A clip as set forth in claim 1 in which the connecting means extends inwardly to cooperate with transversely curved blades between their cutting edges.
4. A clip for a stack of double-edged razor blades having sides spaced apart to receive said stack of blades therebetween with their cutting edges opposing said sides, connecting means between said sides, the sides being spaced apart a distance greater than the width of the blades between their cuttin edges, and spaced fingers spaced from sai means to receive the blades therebetween.
5. A clip as set forth in claim 4 in which the fingers and the connecting means extend inwardly to engage transversely-bent blades in the clip.
HENRY J. GAISMAN.
