I claim: r 1. A paratus for buffing a flexible portion of a ru bber article situated adjacent an exposed underlying portion thereof, compris- 5 ing a rotary buffer and a short arcuate mem ber positioned to support the portion to be buffed and to shield the adjacent underlying portion of the article, said member being mounted for movement toward and away 1 from said buffer radially of the latter.
