This invention relates to window-screens; and consists in the construction and combination of parts, hereinafter described and claimed.
In the accompanying drawings, A designates one section of the frame of a window-screen, and B the othery section thereof, each framesection being rectangular, and covered with a wire-screen, O, for excluding insects. Section A is provided at the top and bottom with vertical beads or tongues a, vertical grooves al, horizontal grooves a?, and corner ridges a3 between said grooves. Section B isgcorrespondvingly provided at top and bottom with vertical grooves b, which receive tongues a, vertical tongues b1, which set into grooves al, horizontal tongues b2, which set into grooves a, and corner recesses b3, which receive corner ridges a3. The two sections A and B thus connected may be readily slid together or apart, so as to open or close the window. Section B is provided With a vertical bar, D, which .presses against the screen O of the other section, and is stopped by one of the uprights thereof when the said sections are slid apart. Its oftice is to exclude insects, and to prevent sections A and B from separating.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination of screen-section A, having vertical tongues a, vertical grooves al, horizontal grooves a2, and corner ridges a3, with section B, having grooves b, tongues b1 and b2, and corner recesses b3, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
