IMPROVEMENT IN PLOWS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 189,607, dated April 17, 1877; application filed February 3, 1877.
1'0 all whom it may concern Be it known that I, WM. GLOBE, of Rising Sun, in Ohio county, and State of Indiana, have invented an Improvement in Plows, of which the following is a specification:
Figures 1 and 2 of the drawing are side elevations; Figs. 3 and 4, detail views in plan and section of the colter.
The invention consists in so constructing and connecting the share, land-side, and colter of a plow, that a close and firm joint will be formed, and the parts always maintained in exactly their true relation to each other.
A represents the beam, B the handles, and
D the mold-board.- I make the standard 0 and land-side E in one piece, recessing the latter to receive the share F in the usual manner but I also make a recess, 0', in the piece 0 E, so as to receive a shank, G, of the colter G. The latter is also provided with a projection, g, that rests upon and serves to bind the parts together when the plow is at work.
Having thus described all that is necessary to a full understanding of my invention, what I claim as new is- The combination of a one-piece standard and land-side, G E, having inclined recess 0, share F, and colter G G, the latter having a forward projection, g, that rests upon the share, as shown and described.
WILLIAM GLOBE.
