My invention relates to current collector devices and particularly that type known as the slidingor shoe collector.
The object of my invention is to provide a simple, eficient and economical device to fit the endof a trolley pole or support.
Another object is to provide a more efficient connection between the current carrying shunt and the shoe.
Another object is to provide a shoe which can be easily and quickly replaced when worn out.
My invention resides in the new and novel construction, combination and relation of the parts hereinafter described and shown in the drawing accompanying this specification.
In the drawing Fig. 1 is a side view in elevation of my in vent-ion.
Fig. 2 is an end view in elevation.
Fig. 3 is a side view in elevation of the shoe I prefer to use and the connection of the shunt cable thereto.
In the preferred embodiment I employ a harp member 1 having a socket portion 2 to receive the end of the trolley pole or other support. Spaced arms 3 are provided between which the shoe 1 is mounted to oscillate.
To mount the shoe I employ two pins 5 which are mounted in oppositely disposed registering openings 6 in the arms 3 and are held in position by means of the cotter pins 7. The cotter pins 7 may be used at each end of the pins 5 or each pin may have a head 8 at one end and the cotter pin 7 at the other end.
The pins 5 are prevented from rotating through the cotter pins 7 being positioned in slots 9 in the pin hubs 10.
The member 1 is provided with an inwardly projecting member 11 to which is secured the current conducting shunt 12 as later described.
The shoe is provided with a groove 13 between flanges 14 and has an elongated straight contact surface 15 which engages with the trolley wire. The surface of the groove 13 at the ends of the contact surface 15 turn downwardly as at 16.

The shoe is provided below the portion 17 with a web portion 18 and has a V-shaped cutaway portion 19 and projecting laterally from the web portion 18 on both sides thereof is a boss portion 20 which extends betweenthe arms 3. The boss 20 has an opening therethroughwhich opens into the V-shaped opening 19. Mounted in the opening through the boss 20 is a plug member' contact with the cable 12 thus providing an eflicient contact from the cable 12 to the shoe at through the medium of the pin 21. The slot 22 has an enlargement which permits the cable 12 to spread out when'the pin 21 is compressed thereon thus more securely holding the cable in place. The pin 21 may be the width of the boss 20 and the slot 22 may extend the length of the pin 21. p
The cable extends from the pin 21 through the V-shaped opening 19.

Having described my invention I claim g 1. A current collector comprising a sup port havlnga socket and spaced arms, a pair of transversely disposed pins through said arms and a shoe mounted between said arms upon said pins to osclllate in a plane atright 2. A current collector comprising a support having a socket and spaced arms, a pair of transversely disposed pins through said arms and a shoe mounted between said arms upon said pins to oscillate in a plane at right angles to the axes of the pins, the pins maintaining the shoe in position between said arms.
3. A current collector comprising a support having a socket and spaced arms, a pair of transversely disposed pins through said arms and a shoe mounted between said arms upon said pins to oscillate in a plane at right angles to the axes of the pins and a flexible cable connecting the shoe and support.
4. A current collector comprising a support having a socket and spaced arms, a pair of transversely disposed pins through said arms and a shoe mounted between said arms upon said pins to oscillate in a plane angularly disposed to the axes of the pins and aflexible cable having one end connected to the shoe adjacent the axis of oscillation and the other end connected to the support.
5. A current collector comprising a support having a socket and spaced arms, a pair of transversely disposed pins through said arms and a shoe mounted between said arms upon said pins to oscillate in a'plane at right angles to the axes of the pins, the shoe removable only by removing one of the pins.
6. A current collector comprising a shoe having a groove with an elongated contact surface, a support for the shoe, a plurality of pins secured to the support and upon which the shoe oscillates, the shoe having spaced areuate slots each having the same radii of curvature and the said radii having the same center, the pins passing through the slots and maintaining the shoe in position on the support.
7. A current collector comprising a shoe having a groove with an elongated contact surface, a support for the shoe,'a plurality of pins secured to the support and upon which the shoe oscillates, the shoe having spaced arcuate slots each having the same radii of curvature and the said radii having the same center, the pins passing through the slots and maintaining the shoe in position on the support and a cable connected to the shoe and to the support.
8. A shoe comprising a body having a groove with an elongated contact surface, a pair of spaced arcuate slots to receive spaced supports upon which the shoe oscillates, a transverse opening, a slotted plug tightly fitting the opening and a flexible cable having one end positioned in the slot of the plug and gripped by the plug.
9. A shoe comprising a body having a groove with an elongated contact surface, a
slots connect, a second transverse opening which has a side connection with the first transverse opening, a separately formed plug in the second opening and a conductor secured thereto.
10. A shoe comprising a body having a groove with an elongated contact surface, a wearing portion of which the said surface forms a part, a transverse opening through the web portion, a curved slot through the web on each side of the opening and having one end closed and the other end open and opening into the said transverse opening the curved slots having a common center line with the center of its radius positioned Within the limits of the wearing portion.
11. A current collector comprising a support having a socket and spaced arms, a plurality of spaced supports extending between the arms and a shoe provided with spaced arcuate slots mounted between the arms with the supports positioned within the slots, the shoe to oscillate upon the spaced supports and the supports preventing the accidental removal of the shoe.
