The invention relates to vdie cut cards having rounded corners such as are used for various purposes and which have printed matter upon the reverse sides thereof, It is the object of the invention to facilitate the reverse printing of said cards and to this end the invention consists in the construction as hereinafter set forth;

In the printing of cards of the character above described it is necessary first to set up the printed matter for one side of the card and run the cards through the press then to set up the matter for the reverse side and to run the cards a second time through the press. To lessen the labor and the time required for these operations, I form a card blank A which is double the width of a single card which permits of simultaneously printing the matter for reverse sides of the card,
one on one section B thereof and the other'on the other section 0. Thus by passing the cards twice through the press both sides are printed with only the same number of individual operations that would be required for printing one side of a single card. It is, however, necessary to sever the printed blank" into the separate cards and in doing so to form rounded corners which are tangent to the sides and wlthout any rough or ragged dotted lines F and G.
With the construction as thus far described, it would be necessary for the operator to register the shearing blade very exactly with the dotted lines F and G to sever the sections without any points or rough places.

I have modified the construction as shown in enlarged detail in Figure 2. In this figure the curves E and E form the rounded corners of the two sections of thecard and the reverse curve F connects with the curves E and This reverse curve 1s not, however, directly tangent with the curves E and E but is of a diameter somewhat less than the dimension between the adjacent portions of said curves E, E and is connected therewith by slightly convergingstraight lines G and G tangent thereto; With this construction the operator can vary the registration of the shearing blade by an amount equal to the distance between the dotted'lines and H which are parallel to each other and to the outer edge of the card and respectively pass through the points of tangency between the lines G, G of the curves E and F. While it is true that the shearing line in severing the ohlique line Gr will be at a slight angle thereto. This is too small to form an objectionable corner. Thus it will not be difficult for the operator to perform the work in a satisfactory manner.
The object of the reverse curve F is to preserve the 'dies by avoiding any corner which might break off.
l Vhat I claim as my invention is:
1. A. card blank of an area to form two adjacent individual cards with a slight intermediate space, the outer cornersof said blank being rounded and two opposite edges being notched between the individual card portions to form rounded corners therefor tangent to edges convergingtowards the center of the blank and which are non-parallel to the edges ners for the individual cards and an edge of opposite curvature to that of the corners, said round corners and sald curved edges being connected by tangent edges which converge in a direction toward the center of the blank for the purpose described.
5. Acard blank of an area to form two adjaeent individual cards with an intermediate portion therebetween, the outer corners of said blank being rounded and two opposite edges being. notched between the'individual card portions to form curved edges tangent to the outer edges of the card and terminating in straight edges which slope towards each other at the inner portion of said notch.
6. A card blank of an area to form two adjacent individual cards with an intermediate portion therebetween, the outer corners of said blank being rounded and two opposite edges being notched between the individual i card portions to form curved edges tangents to said outer edges, the inner edges of the notches being tangent to the inner ends of said curved edges and angularly disposed to each other.
7. A card blank of an area to form two adjacent individual cards with an intermediate portion therebetween, the outer corners of said blank being rounded and two opposite edges being notched between the individual card portions to form curved edges tangent to said edges at the outer portion of the notch and tangent to the sloping side edges of the notches at the inner portions thereof, said tangents of each card portion subtending an angle greater than 90 degrees.
8. card blank of an area to form two adjacent individual cards withan intermediate portion therebetween, the outer corners of said blank being rounded and two opposite edges being notched between the individual card portions to form curved edges tangent to the outer edges of the card and terminating in straight edges which slope towards each other at the inner portion of said notch, the sloping straight edges formed by the sides of the notches being tangent to a curved edge of smaller radius than the rounded corners and disposed in the bottom of the notches.
