IMPROVEMENT IN SHOE-HOLDERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 188,317, dated March 13, 1877; application filed January 22, 1877.

In the annexed drawings, making part of this specification, Figure l is an elevation showing my high-shoe holder.
A represent the front of a box or drawer I containing shoes of which it is desired to exhibit a sample. The elastic bail B, made of wire, bentto the form shown, is fastened to the box by staples O, which allow it to swing freely. The other ends of the wire are bent to form a hook, engaging the staples D D.
The top of a gaiter may be caught under the bail, which bends, so as to hold it tightly by its elasticity, and the hooks are fastened by their staples. The sole of the gaiter may be turned up, to see the marks, and it may be examined without being displaced.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The device for suspending shoes for exhibition, consisting of the elastic bail B, hinged at O to the drawer or box, and hooked at D,
substantially as set forth. 7
