rlhis invention relates to improvements in outdoor advertising structures of the character embodying a steel framework, a poster panel construction supported by the frame- 5 work, and a lattice structure associated therewith. The present invention particularly relates to a new and improved lattice construction and to means for mounting and supporting the lattice on the structure.
In outdoor advertising structures of the character stated, it is necessary to provide partsthat may be readily erected and taken down; consequently', it is the practice to construct the framework-ot structural steel mem- 5 bers that'niay be readily assembled and secured together, and to form the panel ot detachable sections. The lattice structure yde-` signed to be employed with and-be positioned immediately below the poster-receiving panel o is usually of sheet metal construction. -Heretofore', the erection or` the assembling of the lattice on the structure and securing it thereto in the desired position, as well as dismantling the lattice, has been the source of consid-V 5 erable trouble andexpense.
Among the vobjects'of the present invention are, to provide simple and efficient means for mounting and detachably securing the lattice to the structure; `to provide simple hanger members adapted to be attached to the iframework` of the structure and having means cooperating with means on the sectional lattice whereby positioned and detachably secured; and to structure embodying my in-V erecting; l Y .Y

An important andcharacteristic feature of the present invention resides in the means for mounting and detachably supporting the several lattice sections B on the outdoor advertising-structure, and, as illustrated and aspret'erred, these means include a series of hangers C designed to be positioned on the front faces ofthe uprights 3. The hangers are formed of a vertically `extending member4 ll,preferably of tlat metal, and supporting members or :angles 12, having flanges 13 thereof welded or otherwise secured tothe l member 11. Itv will be noted, however, that the angle member 18a is offset'or out of alignment with the anglel member 18. This arrangement is veryimportantas it permits the assemblage of the sections to be madeA with the least possible trouble, as 'hereinafter described. `The angle members 18 and 18a extend rearwardly from their respective, channels, and have one `flange a thereof spaced away fromthe channel membersa slight amount, as shown in Fig. 3. In some instances, the said angle members 18 and 18a are formed integral with and extend substantially the llength of the respective channels `16 and 16a, and' are.provided'withoE-set openings Vto function similarly to the o-set members 18 and 18a.
It will be noted that thefchannel members stiften the `flexible lattice body, thus providing a very desirable Lconstruction for handling these sheet metal sections,and that the said channels andthe elements carried thereby cooperate with the hangers CV forl mounting andsecuring the lattice sections to the f Clips 20 'arel providedffor finally securing the lattice to the panel structure. Theseclips are box-like, and are provided with a lattice engaging member 21, a panel capping engaging flange 22, and side members 23. `The member 21 is formed with a slotted opening. 24 and the flange 22is provided with an opening 25. 1. In an outdoor advertising structure, the combination with two sheet metal lattice sections each comprising a body cut and bent to form channel-like portions and openings and ns between the adjacent channel-like portions, and a reinforcing channel member secured to the body of each section and extending substantially at right angles to the said channel-like portions, said reinforcing niembers having coacting means for adjustably connecting the sections.
2. In an outdoor advertising structure, a sheet metal lattice section comprising a body cut and bent to form channel-like portions and openings and fins between the adjacent channel-like portions, and a reinforcing channel member welded to the body and extending substantially at right angles to the said channel-like portions, said channel member having one end projecting from the body and its other end substantially Hush therewith, said ends being slotted.
3. In an outdoor advertising structure, a sectional sheet metal lattice including a body cut and bent to form vertically extending channel-like portions and openings and fins between the adjacent channel-like portions, and upper and lower spaced apart transf versely extending reinforcing channel members welded to the body adjacent its top and bottom, said members having slotted end portions. In an outdoor advertising structure, a sectional sheet metal latticeincluding a body cut and bent to forni vertically extending channel-like portions and openingsand fins between the adjacent channel-like portions, and upper and lower transversely extending reinforcing channel members secured to the body, said channel members each having body and the other ends of said channels being slotted and substantially'flush with the body. j j
