An object of the invention is to construct a contro-l device with indicating means that will be of pleasing appearance, rigid construction and of low cost and capable: of rapid assembly. Y

The Celluloid or fibre strip 11 is then inserted in the grooves 18 and 24 commencing at notches 21 and 29.

Also, if thefstrip binds the screws threaded in the holes27 may be loosened and retightened when the f strip is in position. One of the screw drums, for example, -35,is clamped against control shaft 36 byset screws`37 preferably arranged at right angles, as shown in Fig. 1.` The other drum may be pressed tightly on' the shaftas the adjustment of one'drum is sufficient to permit assembly of the cable with` the desired tautness. 5. In radio dials a pairy of'anges each lhaving a circular groove on a' side, and a circular groovel on the opposite side, an indieating strip secured in said irst mentioned grooves and driving means .passing around the second 'mentioned grooves.

In radio dials a pair'of circular anges, each having a portion extending radially inwardly and thence outwardly forming a groove yand another-portion extending axially outwardly and .thence inwardlyy to form a Vsecond groove, said first mentioned groove being on theoutside of saidflange and the second mentioned groove being on the inside thereof, an indicatingV strip inthe second mentioned groovesY and driving means in the first mentioned groove.
