T V j 'The operation of thedog 46'is controlled brought into rated contacts 64- 44 against retrograde movement whenthe dog 46 1s moved into an lnoperative or unlocking position with respect to the member 41, a spring 55 being provided to retaining pawl 53. I
The receptacle 11 will thus be rocked about itspivot to alternately dischargethecontents thereof into thecans or containers control the "28, p which latter are mounted upon a suitable support 56 and the rocking of the receptacle 11 is automatically controlled by the delivery of respective chambers 18.
In the present application'of the invendispensed is disclosed the liquid or material to be dispensed into the o as aliquid which, when the parts arein the position showninFigureB, will fill one off the chambers '19 by-being discharged through the space between the transverse partition 14 and the end of the respective inclined partitio'n' 15-,a vent pipe 57 beingfprovided for each of the chambers 19.
Assoon as one ofthe chambersilfil is filled with the liquid, any additionalamount delivered into the receptacle 11 will flow over the partition 14 and intoone ofthe receiving chambers 18 to accumulatetherein andthe accumulation of the liquid will operate or raise a float 58 connected with a. rod 59 that moves in suitable guides 60. One of these floats and an electric circuit make and break device, hereinafter to be described, isasso: ciated with eachof the chambers 18 andthe respectivefloatswill rise and fall according" quantity of liquid in the chambers 18."
These float devices, operate to control the electro-responsive device 48 through the medium of contacts 61- 62. To the contact 61 is connected a conductor 63'Lwhich is also connected to'a contacti6i4. Acontact 65 is spaced from the contact 64 and co-operates therewithin a manner to be described, and
connected with this contact 65- is a conductor ,66 which: leads from one side of a suitable source of-supply,- such as-a battery 67. 7 Leading from the other side ofthe battery is a conductor 68 which is connected to one end of the winding ofthe electro-responsive device 48. v I 1 Connected to the other end of the winding of the electro-responsive device is a conductor 69 which is also connected with a contact 70, the latter being disposed in a position that when the float 58 rises the contact62'will be engagement with the contact70, thereby completingthe circuit through the electro-responsive device 48 and the sepa manner. I
Connected for rotation with the vpulley '39 is a disc 71 formed'ofany suitable insulating material such as fiberor the like and carried in the following by the disc is a contact 72 which passes through the disc and is exposed; onboth sides thereof. This disc 7i operates between access;
machine will be clearly understood from the foregoing description, but briefly stated it is as follows a Assuming the parts'to be in the position- -20 shown in Figures 1 and 3, and liquid is being supplied through the pipe 20,the liquid will accumulate in the compartment 19 which is elevated until the compartment 19 is filled, as shown in Figure 3.1.
During the filling of thiscompartme'nt the: liquid will be discharged from the compart ment 19 which is lowered and any surplus amount of liquid will flow over the partition 14 into the other chamber 18. As the liquid flows out of the chamber 18 which is elevated and into the chamber 19 as shown in Figure 3, the float 58 in that chamber will be lowered, thereby moving the contact 62 away from the contact 7 O to break the circuit through the electro-responsive device 4 8. This will render the electro-responsive device inactive so that the spring 52 will position the end of the lever 50 in the path of movement of a portion of the dog 46 to cause the discs 4 1 and 71 to be locked for rotation with the shaft 40 to shift the receptacle 11 from the position shown in Figure 1 to the position shown in Figure 4. V I
As soon. as the other or filled chamber 18 is raised, the float 58 will be held raised until the liquid flows from the chamber 18 into thechamber 19 sufliciently' to cause the float to drop to move the contact 62 away from the contact 70. 4 It has been found that in operation, a considerable amount of electricity will be consumed in a days operation of the device if the circuit to the electro-responsive device is not promptly broken after the receptacle is shifted, and it has also been found'that the contact 62 will not always promptly move out of engagement with the contact 70. Therefore, in order to conserve the amount of electricity employed and to insure a prompt breaking of the circuit through the electroresponsive device 48 the additional make and break device 64,-65-72 is provided.
The circuit for the other chambers 18 and 19 and float 58 is the same as for the float device just described.
In order to remove the receptacles 28 after i While the preferred form of they have been-filled, a suitable conveyor 73 maybe provided.
