Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device which, in the case of a sheet missing, automatically moves away the counter pressure cylinder.
  • afeeler is provided which is controlled by the sheet to be applied so that on the missing of a sheet it can so move that an apparatus set in action thereby can move the counter pressure roller away on the further working of the machine.
  • Fig. 1 shows the parts in question of a multiple printing plant, seen from the side, the side wall carrying the roller as also the defleeting apparatus, being omitted.
  • Fig. 2 is a section through Fig. 1 in'the direction of the line 22.- Here the side wall of the multiple printing plant carrying the apparatus is shown. a
  • Fig. 3 is a side view of-the part of the ma.- chine in question
  • Fig-4 is a section through Fig. 3.
  • V i r i In the drawings (a is a feeler the end of which is curved in the shape of a circle and which is fixed on a shaft 6. On the same shaft is provided a weight'b which tends to rotate the shaft counter clockwise.
  • feeler a fits in betweentwo rollers c and d
  • rollers have recesses at points lying opposite each other, which are indicated by the broken line circles in Fig. 1.
  • the rollers 0 and cl serve for the feeding of the paper sheet 13.
  • the feeler When a paper sheet is fed in the movement of the feeler upwards is limited by the paper sheet; the feeler then rests entirely in'the recess of the roller '0, while on the missing of a paper sheet can swing out into the position shown on the drawings in which it projects above the contact plane of the two rollers-c and cl and forward into the recess of the roller d.
  • On the shaft 6 is also 391,418, and in Germany September 6, 1928.
  • a toothed segment 11/ is also provided on the rocking lever which is fixed on the rocking lever for example by means of the screw 02.
  • a curved double armed lever p rocking about a fixed axis o is rotatably connected at one end to the rocking point of the double lever 71, while the'second vend bears, through an in' terpo sed spring 20, against a lever 29 which carries a roller m.
  • The'upper free lever arm of the double lever p and the arm 10 can be adjusted by means of the screw connection shown, together with the spring, in any desired manner, in order to regulate the position of the roller and therefore the commencement of the working period of the leverp.
  • the roller m bears against a cam path 9 providedon the circumference of the pressure roller D and is controlled thereby.
  • the shaft 8 carries a toothed wheel t which engages with the toothed segment a.
  • the centre part 4) of the shaft 8 is made eccentric. This eccentric part serves to carry the counter pressure roller D
  • the shaft 8 is correspondingly rotated by means of the toothed wheel transmission and then in consequence of the rotation of the eccentric part o the counter pressurev roller D is raised or lowered.
  • a disc 7' connected to the shaft is provided, this having two recesses in which alternately This nose-piece co-operates with,
  • the apparatus can of course, becarried out oscillates about a journal y.
  • the movement of the frame to takes placeby means of a lever 5 a which is rotatably connected at y with the frame to by means of a stop screw 2 which is adjustableiwith respect to the frame w,
  • the shaft .9 When the machineis to be again started, the shaft .9 must be rotated back into its initial position. This rotation backward takes place by holding the disc 2 by the hand and rotating it until the pin w again engages in the other groove and fixes the apparatus in the working position.
  • Afurther apparatus can be preferably combined with this arrangement, according to which during the working of the apparatus an adjustment of the pressure can take place.
  • This apparatus is shown in Figs. 3 and 4:. In so far asthe parts'in this figure correspond to Fig. 1 they are provided with the same reference signs.
  • the adjustment of the counter pressure is regulated by the toothed.
  • wheel 6 being coupled through a claw coupling with axially directed clawswith a disc r which disc r again is connected with the disc 1 by means of clamping screws 71 which run in a slot of the disc r so that on loosening 'these clamping screws and adjusting-the parts 1" andr with respect to each other, thefshaft 8 maybe rotated with respect to the toothed wheel t and thus the eccentricity beadjusted.
  • the clamping screws 7" are dispensed with and the parts are madein the manner shown in Figs. 3and 4.
  • the part r corresponding tothe part 7" of the first form of construction is fitted by means of an extended slot opening on the flattened front end 3 of the shaft 8, so that by rotating this part r the shaft 8 may be rotated, for example, toset it in again after it has been drawn back by the missing of a sheet.
  • the disc r is for this purpose provided with handles W.
  • the part coupling the disc r with the toothed wheel 25 and which is indicated by r in the con struction according to Figs. 3 and 4, is now not firmly connected with the part r but is made in the form of a worm wheel.
  • the part 1' has a projection r serving as the bearing for a worm 1 which is provided with a h and piece 7' and engages in the worm wheel 7".
  • the shaft 8 is rotated and thus the eccentric part '0. of this shaft is brought'more or less close to the pressure roller or moved away from it'and thus the pressure with which the counter pressure roller bears against the printing roller is increased or diminished.
  • the disc 1- may be suitably provided at its upper end with a recess having a mark r thereon and behind which a scale 9 on the part 7", appears, so that the position at the moment of the two pg rts with respect to each other may be'read I claim:
  • Apparatus for displacing the counter pressure roller on the missing of a sheet in multiple reproduction apparatus comprising, in combination, with a counter-pressure roller and the printing drum, a stop piece, a curved disc connected with the printing drum and continuously moving said stop piece to and fro, a stop adapted to be engaged by said stop piece, a gearing adapted to displace the counter-pressure roller and controlled by said stop, and a feeler controlled by the sheet to be 'fed and controlling said stoppiece so as to engage said stop and moving it for displacing the counter-pressure roller, if no sheet is fed.
  • the gearing consists of a rocking lever and a toothed gearing rotated by said rocking lever when moved by said stop, said toothed gearing being coupled with the counter-pressure roller, the rotary axis of said counter-pressure roller being eccentrically shaped and having attached thereto a disc with recesses and being combined with a spring pin engaging said recesses in two end positions of the counter roller.
  • the gearing consists of a rocking lever and a toothed gearing rotated by said rocking lever when moved by said stop, said toothed gearing being coupled with the counter-pressure roller, the rotary axis of said counterpressure roller being eccentrically shaped and having attached thereto a disc with recesses and being combined with a spring pin engaging said recesses in two end positions of the counter roller, said counter roller being provided with a disc and being combinedwith a coupling gearing capable of being adjusted while running, said coupling gearing being connected with the disc by means of a coupling part connected with said coupling gearmg.
