Another'objeet oft 's invention is the provision of a chamber located in and receiving water from the well and connected to the water system of a dwelling and to an air pressure source that the water therein may be torced through the system and used. as desired.
A further object of this invention isthe provision 0t an automatic valve to control the air pressure to the chamber as the water is dispensed from the: system and which will automatically vent or place the chamber under' atmospheric pressure when the dispenswater from the system is discontinned to permit the chamber to replenish itself with water from the well.

Referring in detail to the drawings, the numeral 1 indicates a well having a build ing or dwelling 2 located adjacent thereto and to which my invention is applied.-
A chamber 3 is suitably supported in the well 1 and submerged in thewater asficlearly shown in Figure 1 and has in the bottom wall thereof a foot valve 4 for the purpose of admitting water from the well into the chamber 3. The foot valve 4 is of the check type which will permit water to flow into the "chamber but will prevent the water from passing out of the chamber when force is applied there to. A suitable strainer 5 is positioned, on

The valve 8 is associated with a sink or basin 9 provided with the usual drain pipe 10.
An automatic control valve 11 is connected to the pipe 6' preferably within the basement of the building or dwelling and has connected thereto air pipes 12 and 13 and the pipe 13 is in turn connected to an air pressure source 14 located in the basement and in the form of a tank having an air pressure gauge 15.
A suitable compressor 16 is connected to the tank 14 for the purpose of building up air pressure therein and may be driven in any suitable manner such as by a gasolineengine or. an electric motor when electricity is available. 15 may be of an automatic nature so that the The power source for the compressor air pressure within the tank 14 willbe maintained to a desired pressure at all times. The pipe 12 extends from the basement into the well' and through the top wall of the chamber 3 for the purpose of placing the interior of the chamber 3 under air pressure from the source .14. The air pressure in the chamber compartment 21 and air compartments 22 and 23. The compartment 22 has the pipe 13 connected thereto while the compartment 23 has the pipe 12 connected thereto. The compartments 22 and 23 are separated by an apertured partition 24 having a valve seat about the aperture thereof to be engaged by a ball valve 25 supported by a coil spring 26 mounted on an adjustable plate 27 located within the compartment 22.' The plate 27 is adjustably secured to the bottom wall of the compartment 22 by a stud bolt 28 whereby the tension of the spring on the ballvalve 25 may be varied as desired.
7 A vent pipe 29 open to the atmosphere is slidably mounted in the top wall of the compartment23 and is of a size that the same may pass through the aperture of the partition 24 to be engaged by the ball valve 25 when the valve is in the position as shown in Figure 4 for the purpose of closing the chamber 3 to the atmospheric pressure. It is to be understood'that when the vent tube 29 is positioned as shown in Figure 3 the chamber 3 is in direct communication with the J atmosphere through the pipe12 so that water from the well may fill the chamber 3.
The compartment 21 is knownas the diaphragm compartment and has'located there in ,a diaphragm 30 that overlies the open upper end of thepressure chamber 17of the valve and has connected thereto a rod 31 by a head 32 and the rod extends throu h the top wall of the compartment 21 and has adjustably secured to its upper end an arm 33 which, is in turn adjustably secured to the vent pipe 29 for the purpose of moving the vent pipe according to the position of the diaphragm. A coil spring 34 is positioned between the top wall of the compartment 21 and the head 32 for the purpose of urging the diaphragm into a position as sh'own in Figure 4 for the purpose of positioning the vent tube and ballvalve 25 so that air pressure from' the source 14 can pass into the chamber 3 to expel water from the chamber through the pipe system. when the control valve 8 is open. When the valve 8 is again opened, the pressure in the water system is reduced, consequently reducing the pressure in the chamber 17 of the valve and the diaphragm is moveddownwardly into the "positionshown in Figure 4 by theinfiuence of the spring-34 consequently again placing the chamber 3 under air pressure from" the source 14 whichair pressure will expel the water therefrom through the pipe 6 to the valve 8. i r

Having I claim is:
1. .A valve for a water system comprising thus described my invention, what a pressure chamber, a diaphragm chamber in communication with said pressure chamber, a diaphragm closingthe'diaphragm cham ber. from the pressure chamber, a tension means for urging the diaphragm in onedirection, a casing carried by'the diaphragm chamber and having a pair of compartments,
a valve seatbetween said compartments, an nlet pipe connected to one ofthe compartments and to an air'pressure source, and outa vent tube slidable through the compartments, a spring pressed ball valve in one of the compartments to engage theseat when the vent tube is in one position and to engage the end of the vent tube when the latter is in another position, and an arm adjustably secured to the vent tube and to the diaphragm. 1

A valve for a water system comprising an air pressure chamber, a diaphragm chamber in communication with the pressure chamber, a diaphragm closing the communication between said chambers, a stem on the diaphragm, a valve casing carried by the diaphragm chamber and having a pair of compartments, a valve seat between said compartments, an arm adjustably secured to the stem, a spring pressed ball valve located in engage the seat, a vent tube adjustably secured to the arm and movable through said compartments and when in one position adapted to engage the ball valve, and the tension means for urging the diaphragm in one direction.
