deck or platform which will preferably be shaped as shown in Fig. 1, but may be of any other suitable form. Beneath said deck or platform are a plurality of long main pontoons 13, a plurality of long auxiliary pontoons 14c and supporting columns 15 connecting said deck with said auxiliary and said main pontoons. The pontoons 13 and 14 are preferably of a length substantially equal to the length of the deck or platform 12, but may be of greater or lesser length if desired. The main pontoons 13 are connected together by transverse rods or bars 16, and the structure comprises transverse diagonal bracing struts 17 and longitudinal diagonal bracing struts 18. Immediately beneath the deck or platform 12 is a trussed section comprising rods or bars 19 and diagonal bracing struts 20.
The main pontoons 13 are to be submerged at any suitable depth and means will preferably be provided whereby water may be pumped into or out of them to lift the platform or deck 12 to any desired height above the surface of the water line a at which line the auxiliary pontoons 14 will preferably be located when the landing stage is in use.
The improved landing stage will, in practice, be provided with a series of motor driven propellers 21 by which it may be navigated and steered to any desired place where it may be anchored. Also the landing stage may be provided with houses or cabins for the storage of supplies or for the accommodation of attendants or travelers.
From the foregoing it will be understood that the invention provides a secure floating landing stage, for. airplanes or other purposes, and which may be anchored at any convenient place.
Having thus described my invention, 1 claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
A floating landing stage comprising a plurality of long connected main pontoons to be submerged, a deck, a plurality of auxiliary long pontoons disposed about midway between said deck and said main pontoons and also to be submerged, columns or supports connecting said deck and said auxiliary pontoons with said main pontoons, a diagonally braced section just beneath said deck, and diagonal bracing struts connecting said col umns and said main pontoons.
